Seed stage

Dalia Research, a Berlin-based mobile survey startup, raised a seven-digit seed round led byWellington Partners and the IBB Beteiligungsgesellschaft (IBB-Bet). Angel-investors, including WestTech Ventures, also participated.

Back to the Roots, provider of sustainable grow-at-home mushroom kits, raised $2 million in a round led Fund Good Jobs, along with Kevin Cleary, Gary Hirshberg, Blake Mycoskie, Carol Olson and Michael Pollan.

Pachyderm, a startup that has built an open source platform for employing containers, raised $2 million from Data Collective, Foundation Capital, Blumberg Capital, Susa Ventures, Crunchfund, Caffeinated Capital, Soma Capital, and Ace & Company. Angel investors Paul Buchheit, Jonathan Abrams, Avichal Garg, and Jay Jamison also participated.

Ministry, a mobile game developer based in Helsinki raised €1.8 million in funding from Index Ventures, Initial Capital, Sunstone Capital and Proxy Ventures, among others.

Messaging app Dasher raised $840,000 in seed funding from Greycroft, Accel Partners, and Betaworks.

Recruting marketplace Vettery raised $1.7 million in seed funding from undisclosed angel investors.

 

Early stage

Vinli, a developer of a connected car platform raised a $6.5 million Series A round led by Samsung Venture Investment Corporation. Cox Automotive, The Westly Group, and Continental also participated.

Jimdo, provider of cloud-based website building software, raised €25 million ($28 million) from Spectrum Equity. 

Colabo, an automated sales prospecting company, raised $7 million in a Series A funding round led by Marker LLC, with participation by Kaedan Capital, Paul Maritz, Ray Rothrock, and The Hive.

E.ON acquired a stake in energy-smart data and commerce platform Enervee. The amount invested was undisclosed, but was at least $1.3 million.

 Docker software developer Rancher Labs raised a $10 million funding round from Mayfield and Nexus Venture Partners.

Delivery and shipping startup Fetchr raised $11 million in a Series A round led by New Enterprise Associates. 

TaskUs, an outsourcing company servicing tech startup,  raised $15 million in Series A funding from Navegar.

Brit+ Co, a women’s do-it-yourself advice site, raised $20 million in funding from Intel Capital and others.

Arcadia Data, provider of a unified visual analytics and business intelligence platform. raised $11.5 million in a Series A round led by Mayfield, with additional investment from Blumberg Capital and Intel Capital.

Talkdesk. a cloud-based call centee software solution, raised a $15 million Series A round led by Josh Stein at DFJ with participation from Jason Lemkin at Storm Ventures.

Maker Media, a social network for the do it yourself projects, rasied $5 million in funding from Obvious Ventures, Raine Ventures, Azure Capital, OATV and Floodgate, as well as some debt financing from Square 1.

Tile, a creator of a wearable objects for people not to lose their things, raised $3 million in a Series A round from Khosla Ventures.

Volta Industries, a provider of electric car-charging services, raised a $4.5 million in a Series A round led by Three Bridges Ventures with participation from Riverwood Capital, 500 Startups and Epic Ventures.

ANSR Consulting India, a firm focused on bringing multinationals to open their IT back-office operations in India, raised $9 million from Accel Partners with participation from unnamed family offices and individual investors

Ivideon, a Russian startup whose cloud platform allows users to beam video to any device, raised $4 million from Impulse VC.

E-commerce florist BloomThat raised $5.5 million in Series A funding led by Forerunner Ventures, along with Sherpa Ventures, Rothenberg Ventures, First Round Capital and Vaizra Investments.

Evrythng, maker of Smart Products Platform, raised $7.5 million in a round led by BHLP LLC and Atomico, with Dawn Capital, Cisco Systems, Samsung Ventures, and others participating. 

Miura Systems, provider of mPOS devices, raised a $16 million round of funding led by DFJ Esprit Secondaries with participation from DFJ Esprit EIS funds.

 

Late stage

Delivery Hero, a network of online food-ordering platforms, raised $110 million from two unidentified U.S. public market investors.

Procore Technologies, provider of mobile and web-based tools for managing construction projects, raised a $15 million Series D round  from Bessemer Venture Partners.

Menlo Security, a cyber security company, raised $25 million in a Series B round led by Sutter Hill Ventures with participation from General Catalyst, Osage University Partners and Engineering Capital.

Luxury Retreats, a marketplace for people to list and find fancy homes for short-term rentals, raised $11 million in a Series B round led by iNovia Capital.

Grocery delivery service Blue Apronraised a $135 million round of funding led by Fidelity Management and Research Company, with participation from existing investors.

Outset Medical, a company focused on reimagining the experience of dialysis care for patients with kidney disease, raised $51 million in a round led by Fidelity Research and Management Company, with participation from Warburg Pincus, The Vertical Group, Partner Fund Management LP, Perceptive Advisors and CRG. In addition, CRG led a $40 million debt financing.

JethroData, a provider of an SQL-on-Hadoop solution, raised $8.1 million in a Series B round led by Square Peg Capital, with participation from Pitango Venture Capital.

Music streaming service Spotify raised a $526 million round from TeliaSonera, Baillie Gifford, Senvest Capital, Goldman Sachs, Discovery Capital Management, Halcyon Asset Management, GSV Capital, D.E. Shaw & Co., Technology Crossover Ventures, Northzone, P. Schoenfeld Asset Management and Abu Dhabi’s sovereign-wealth fund.

Language-learning app Duolingoraised $45 million in a round led by Google Capital, with participation from previous investors.

ZypMedia, a programmatic media-buying platform for local advertising, raised a $4.4 million Series B round led by Sinclair Broadcast Group. U.S. Venture Partners also participated.

Wynyard Group, a provider of crime fighting software, raised a NZ$40 million from a range of institutional and other qualified investors in New Zealand, Australia and Asia.

Lattice Engines, a provider of marketing and sales applications, raised a $28 million Series D round led by River Cities Capital Funds and Piper Jaffray Merchant Banking with participation from Blue Cloud Ventures, Sequoia Capital and New Enterprise Associates.

Mobile point of sale company SumUp raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Venture Incubator.

Pax Labs, the company behind the Pax botanical vaporizer, raised $46.7 million in a Series C round led by Tao Capital and Sand Hill Angels, with participation from Fidelity Management & Research Company, Sivia Capital, and more. 

High Alpha, a venture studio focused on conceiving next generation enterprise cloud companies, raised $35 million from Emergence Capital, Greenspring Associates, Hyde Park Venture Partners and strategic angel investors.

Personali, an incentives personalization platform for online retailers, raised $12 million in a Series B round led by Norwest Venture Partners with participation from Cedar Fund, Gemini Venture Partners and private angel investors.

Convirza, a call-marketing optimization company, raised $20 million in a Series B round from undisclosed investors. 

WalkMe, which provides online publishers with the ability to create on-screen walkthroughs, raised $25 million in a round led by Greenspring Associates, with participation from Scale Venture Partners, Giza Venture Capital and Gemini Israel Ventures.
