Seed stage

Home sensor startup Notion raised a $2 million seed round from Draper Nexus Ventures, Gabriel Investments, Galvanize Ventures, Foundry Group Angels and TechStars.

Shift Messenger, a workerplace scheduling communication tool, raised a $1.5 million seed round led by Version One Ventures, along with Golden Venture Partners, Kapor Capital, Commerce Ventures, NewGen Venture Partners, Venrock, and QueensBridge Venture Partners.

BARTRENDr, a social drinking app, raised a $1 million seed round led by members of the New York Angels investor network.

Lystable, a startup connecting companies with freelancers, businesses and services, raised $1.5 million in funding in a round led by Valar Ventures.

Bike startup Brilliant Bicycle Co. raised $1.5 million in seed funding from RRE Ventures and Bonobos, with individual participation from four general partners at RRE, Andy Dunn, Bryan Wolff and Aspiration Growth.

Mapsense, a platform for understanding large location datasets, raised $2.5 million in seed funding led by General Catalyst, with participation from Formation8, Redpoint Ventures, Gil Elbaz and Amplify.LA.

Interacta, an app that works like Shazm for television, raised $220,000 in a seed round led by Fatima Ventures.

Postman, a platform for teams developing APIs, raised a $1 million seed round from Nexus Venture Partners.

HelloTech, a provider of support for technology and electronics, raised $2 million from Collaborative Fund, Baroda Ventures, Greycroft Partners, and Silicon Valley Bank.

ZenParent, a digital media company targeted at parents, raised $500,000 from i2india Ventures.

Nigeria-based hotel booking platform Hotels.ng raised $1.2 million from EchoVC Pan-Africa Fund and Omidyar Network.

 

Early stage

Enervee, an energy-smart data and commerce platform, raised $3.7 million in a round led by Obvious Ventures, along with angel investors in the US and Europe. 

Farm management startup VitalFields raised a $1.2 million Series A round from investors including SmartCap, and an unnamed large Silicon Valley-based VC.

EverCompliant, a provider of cyber risk intelligence and merchant fraud detection solutions, raised $3.5 million in a Series A round led by Carmel Ventures, Nyca Partners and Joey Low.

Campanda, an online booking site for RVs, raised €5 million in a Series A round led by Ecomobility Ventures, along with Atlantic Labs, b-to-v, Ringier Digital Ventures, Accel Partners, and Groupe Arnault also participated.

E-gifting company eGifter raised $3.5 million from the Long Island Angel Network, BDS Capital, Angel Dough Ventures, 94Bits and several angel investors.

MatterFab, a metal 3D printer manufacturing company, raised $5.75 million in a Series A round from GE Ventures and the Innovate Indiana Fund.

Batuta, an Arabic travel online site, raised a $2.5 million Series A investment round led by Siraj Palestine Fund I.

The News Lens, an independent news site based in Taipei, raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding from North Base Media, Hari Kumar, Herbert Chang; and Jim Wu.

Sublime Skinz, a digital advertising company, raised $5 million in a funding round from ISAI.

Granify, am automatic e-commerce revenue optimization platform, raised $9 million from Valar Ventures.

TravelersBox, developer of kiosks for converting leftover foreign currency, raised $4.5 million from Global Blue, Yuval Tal, Zohar Gilon, Hagai Tal, and Ehud Levy, alongside Pitango Venture Capital and iAngels.

Beabloo, a digital marketing solution provider, raised €10 million in a round led by the SoftBank Group.

LendKey, a Lending-as-a-Service platform, raised $8 million in a venture debt line from Silicon Valley Bank.

Payfirma, a multi-channel payment platform provider for small and mid-sized companies, raised $13 million in a Series A round led by Dundee Capital Markets.

Intendu, a developer of technology to improve cognitive rehabilitation of people with brain dysfunction, raised $1.2 million Impact First Investments, along with Eva Ventures and the Office of the Israeli Chief Scientist.

 

Late stage

Document management company DocuSign raised a $45 million round from Dell and Intel Capital.

Flywheel, a ride-for-hire app, raised an undisclosed amount of funding led by Michael Marks, Ash Bhardwaj, and Duncan Robertson, along with Ajay Shah, TCW/Craton, RockPort' and Shasta Ventures.

Job matching platform jobandtalent raised $25 million in a Series A round from an investor group led by Pelayo Cortina Koplowitz, along with Qualitas Equity Partners, Kibo Ventures, Fundacion Jose Manuel Entrecanales, and Nicolas Luca de Tena.

Tegile Systems, a provider of flash-driven storage arrays for databases, raised$70 million round from Capricorn Investment Group, Cross Creek Advisors Pine River Capital Management, August Capital, Meritech Capital Partners, Western Digital and SanDisk.

Calimmune, a clinical-stage gene therapy company, raised a $15 million Series B round led by a large pharmaceutical company. Alexandria Venture Investments, RA Capital Healthcare Fund  and Translational Accelerator also participated. 

Kantox, a currency exchange marketplace for SMEs, raised $11 million in a Series B round led by Partech Ventures, and IDinvest Partners, with Cabiedes & Partners also participating. 

Mobile marketing platform Ubimo raised $7.5 million in a Series B round led by Pitango Venture Capital, with participation from OurCrowd and YJ Capital.

Iyzico, a Turkish platform for e-commerce sites to accept online payments, raised $6.2 million led by the International Finance Corporation, with participation from VC 212, Endeavor Catalyst, and Speedinvest. 

Rubrik, provider of live data access for recovery and application development, raised $41 million in a round led by Greylock Partners, with participation from Lightspeed Venture Partners and existing angel investors.

FruitDay, a Chinese fresh produce e-retailer, raised $70 million a Series C round led by JD.com, along with Susquehanna International Group and ClearVue.

GumGum, an in-image advertising platform publishers and brands, raised $26 million in a Series C round led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital with participation from NEA, Upfront Ventures and First Round Capital.

Venture capital firm Passion Capital raised a £45 million ($69 million) called Passion Capital Fund II.

Virgin Pulse, a habits focused well-being company, raised $92 million in a round led by Insight Venture Partners, with participation from Virgin Group.

Trustpilot, a review community for global online shoppers, raised $73.5 million in a Series D round led by Vitruvian Partners. DFJ Esprit, Index Ventures, Northzone and Seed Capital Denmark also contributed.

Health care cloud-computing company ClearDATA raised $25 million in a Series C round from Heritage Group, HLM Venture Partners and Flare Capital Partners, along with Norwest Venture Partners, Merck Global Health Innovation Fund and Excel Venture Management.

AutoGraph, a provider of personalized mobile experiences, raised $2.7 million from Voyager Capital, along with members of the Alliance of Angels.

Indian online car rental service provider Zoomcar raised $5 million in Series B funding from Sequoia Capital and Mohandas Pai.
