Seed stage

Fashion startup Mezaaj raised an undisclosed amount of seed capital from private investor Arshad Latif.

JiffStore, which offers mobile commerce and customer engagement solutions to grocery retailers, raised  an undisclosed amount of funding from Unitus Seed Fund and Times Internet. 

Ubo, an app that connects users with valets at service stations in Beijing, raised $900,000 in funding from HGDS Capital.

Brightwheel, a provider of a mobile SAAS platform for early education providers, raised $2.2 million in a seed round led by RRE Ventures and Eniac Ventures with participation from CrossLink Capital, Golden Venture Partners, Red Swan Ventures and Sherpa Ventures.

Logicserve Technologies, which owns and operates coupon provider Couponraja.in and price comparison site CompareRaja.in, raised $500,000 (Rs 3 crore) from Mahesh Pratapneni, Pallab Chatterjee and a bunch of unnamed investors.

Kwambio, a 3D printing marketplace and 3D printer company, raised a $650,000 round of funding from Techstars Boston and additional angels.

A/B testing platform SigOpt raised a $2 million seed round from Andreesen Horowitz and Data Collective.

Anti-fuel theft startup Scancam raised $500,000 in seed funding in a round led by several high-net worth individuals.

Decawave, a developer of semiconductors, raised a $4.5 million (€4 million) funding round from angel investors.

Cupick, a platform for visual artists to showcase, share and sell their work, raised a $120,000 seed round of funding from angel investors from the United States and India, including JKN Partners, JK Patel, Sushil Agarwal, Kalpesh Shethia, Rajeev Mudumba, Dinesh Tadepalli and Sudheshna Vuppala.

Knyttan, an on-demand fashion startup, raised $3.2 million (£2 million) in a seed round led by Connect Ventures, with participation from Felix Capital, Playfair Capital, and Ballpark Ventures.

 

Early stage

Online identity verification company Are You A Human raised $4.2 million in a round led by Detroit Venture Partners, along with MDC Dream Ventures, Foundry Group Angels and NCT Ventures.

Custom framing startup Framebridge raised a $7.7 million Series A funding round from New Enterprise Associates

Smart office cleaning and management company Managed by Q raised a $15 million Series A funding led by RRE Ventures, along with half dozen angel investors, including Jessica Alba.

Online real estate marketplace Spacious raised a $3 million round from a range of investors, including Billal Naveed, and Martin Haigh.

Predictive marketing company MentAd raised a $4.7 million funding round from undisclosed investors.

Crowdfunding platform GoFundMe raised an undisclosed of funding in a round led by Accel partners and Technology Crossover Ventures, with Greylock and Meritech Capital Partners also participating.

Fetch Robotics, a builder of robot systems for the logistics industry, raised $20 million in a Series A round was led by SoftBank Group US, with participation from O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and Shasta Ventures.

E-commerce hub Hubbed raised S$4.6 million from Singapore Post for a 30 per cent stake in the company. 

Faceit, a competitive gaming platform, raised $2 million ina a “pre-Series A” bridge round. United Ventures led the funding.

Sketchfab, an online platform for 3D file sharing, raised a $7 million Series A round led by FirstMark Capital. TechStars, Balderton, Partech and Borealis also participated.

Connectifier, a provider of search powered recruiting software, raised a $6 million Series A funding round led by True Ventures, with participation from Galeo Ventures, Okapi Ventures, and angel investors including Sean Ellis, Andrew Chen, Jonathan Downey, and James Hong.

French online farmers' market La Ruche qui dit Oui (The Food Assembly) raised 8 million euros ($9 million) in funding from Felix Capital and Fred Wilson.

ServiceTitan, a mobile, cloud-based management platform for home service businesses, raised $18 million in a Series A funding round led by Bessemer Venture Partners.

Zymergen, which uses microbes to manufacture high-value chemicals and new materials, raised $44 million in a Series A round led by Data Collective with participation from AME Cloud Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, HVF, Innovation Endeavors, Obvious Ventures, True Ventures and Two Sigma Ventures.

Actility, a provider of managed information systems for the IoT, raised $25 million in a round led by Ginko Ventures with participation from KPN, Orange, Swisscom, Foxconn, Fonds Ecotechnologies, Idinvest Partners, and Truffle Capital. 

Gracious Eloise, a personalization technology company, raised a $3 million Series A round from BBG Ventures, Broadway Angels, Female Founders Fund, Great Oaks Venture Capital, Montage Ventures and Valley Girl Ventures, as well as existing investors.

Sense.ly, a virtual nurse platform for patient engagement and chronic disease monitoring, raised $2.2 million in a Series A round of funding, with investors including Launchpad Digital Health, Fenox Venture Capital, and TA Ventures. 

Mayvenn, which helps beauticians sell hair extensions and other products, raised $10 million in a round led by Andreessen Horowitz, along with Trinity Ventures, Core Innovation Capital, Cross Culture Ventures, Impact America, and individual investors including Jimmy Iovine, Serena Williams and Steve Stoute.

 

Late stage

Japanese multinational telecommunications and Internet corporation Softbank raised JPY 14.5 billion (U.S. $118 million) from both Alibaba and Foxconn to fund its robotics division.

Namely, a provider of a cloud-based package of human resource apps, raised a $45 million round led by Sequoia Capital, with Matrix Partners, True Ventures, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, and Greenspring Global Partners also participating.

High-end audio record startup Devialet raised $20 million in a funding round led by Bernard Arnault.

Telemedicine service Doctor On Demand raised a $50 million round led by Tenaya Capital and included Qualcomm Ventures, Dignity Health, Anne Wojcicki, Venrock, Shasta Ventures, Sir Richard Branson, and other growth stage firms.

LeadPages, a provider of digital marketing tools, raised $27 million Series B round of financing, led by Drive Capital, with participation from Foundry Group and Arthur Ventures.

Pronoun, a digital book publishing platform for authors, raised a $3.5 million investment from Avalon Ventures.

Total Dental Care, which runs dental care chain under the MyDentist brand, raised Rs 50 crore (around $8 million) in its Series C round of funding led by LGT Group. Asian Healthcare Fund and SeedFund also participated.

Convene, a network of urban meeting centers and integrated workplace amenity services, raised $15.5 million in a Series B round was led by Conversion Venture Capital, with participation from Boathouse Capital.

Neuravi, a company dedicated to improving clinical outcomes for stroke patients, raised a €19 million ($21 million) Series B round led by Life Sciences Partners, with participation from Fountain Healthcare Partners, Delta Partners and the Western Development Commission.

Tidemark, a cloud financial planning platform, raised $25 million from Greylock Partners, Andreessen Horowitz, Redpoint Ventures, Tenaya Capital,Silicon Valley Bank and Workday.

Free broadband service FreedomPop raised $30 million in a round led by Partech Ventures, and also included DCM Capital and Mangrove Capital.

Email advertising company LiveIntent raised $32.5 million in a round led by FTV Capital, with participation from Battery Ventures, First Round Capital and Shasta Ventures.

Mapbox, a developer of customizable maps used by third-party apps, raised $52.55 million in a Series B round of funding led by DFJ Growth with participation from Foundry Group. DBL Partners, Thrive Capital, the Pritzker Group, Jon Winkelried and Promus Ventures.

Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers launched a seed fund, called KPCB Edge, to focus on virtual reality, drones, blockchains, mobile marketplaces, digital health and computer vision/

SaaS  developer Unleashed Software raised a AU$4.5 million ($3.5 million) Series B round from Craig Wrinkler.

Philo, a next-generation TV platform, raised $10 million in a Series B round led by Series A led by New Enterprise Associates (with participation from CBC New Media Group, HBO, Rho Ventures, XFUND and Andrew McCollum.

Wahanda, a platform for beauty salons and consumers to book appointments, raised a $73 million round from Recruit Holdings.

Azimo, a digital money transfer platform, raised $20 million in a Series B round led by Frog Capital with participation from MCI Investments, e.ventures and Greycroft Partners.

Hello, a creator of the Sense sleep tracker, raised $40 million in a funding round led by Temasek.

Artesian Solutions, a povider of intelligence for B2B customers, raised $8 million in a Series B round led by Octopus Investments and Kreos Capital.

Tamr, a data analytics business, raised $25.2 million in Series B funding from Hewlett-Packard Ventures, Thomson Reuters, MassMutual Ventures, Sinewave Ventures, Work-Bench Ventures, New Enterprise Associates and Google Ventures.
