Console OS has taken home the People's Choice award!

The ballots are in! They have all been counted and recounted, and we have a winner for this year's Vator Splash LA is... IUNU!

IUNU

IUNU has developed a product that enable communities to efficiently transition to and master indoor horticulture year round, solving the core problems preventing indoor agriculture from being economical and environmentally sustainable. 

Compared to current commercial lighting systems, its proprietary Dual Plasma fixture produces 70% less heat, consumes 50% less energy, reduces water consumption, and grows superior produce.

The company address three pain points: an uncontrollable enivornment, high electrical costs and poor horticultural lighting. And there are big costs that the company addresses: 50% of produce costs are transportation, and 50% is spoiled. Iunu's product spreads light evenly over plants, creating an optimal spectrum for photosynthesis. 

By using Iunu, farmers can reduce costs by 50% to 60%.

The company announced at Splash that it has gained a big new client: Microsoft, which is now using Iunu to grow lettuce inside of their cat efterias.

Console OS

Console OS allows users to run Android on a Windows PC or tablet. It is designed to run stand-alone, meaning it doesn't have the performance limitations of solutions that run inside of Windows.

It is able to toggle with Windows in as little as ten seconds, and it avoids the performance issues commonplace with competing solutions for running Android on a PC. Console OS is able to deliver full 3D graphics with technology that outperforms today's Android tablets and phones.

The company has a particular focus on gaming, with sights set on Xbox and Playstation. While mobile devices do not have powerful graphics, and putting Android on a PC allows games to come to life.

Whistle allows customers to communicate with businesses via popular mobile messaging apps, such as GoogleHangouts, WhatsApp, WeChat and Viber, as well as SMS.

Whistle operates on a single web browser tab. It aggregates customer communications into a minimalistic web and mobile admin panel and allows businesses to respond or triage incoming messages via a real-time chat interface to and from the customer's preferred app.

personalRN  is a HIPAA-compliant, patient-facing mobile app to provide disease-specific information to patients and caregivers relevant to their real-time care setting. 

It includes customized education utilizing artificial intelligence algorithms that are determined by patient-specific data points and requires provider engagement and re-engagement from admission to discharge and subsequent outpatient care settings. 

 

AIO Robotics, Inc.

AIO Robotics is a 3D Printer company that has built an all-in-one 3D Printer, called ZEUS, that can scan, print, copy, and fax 3D objects with the touch of a button.

There are oo technical skills required, as the 3D printer is self-contained with an integrated high-speed computer and can fully be operated over an intuitive 7-inch touchscreen. ZEUS comes ready out of the box, setup time is less than 10 min.

Plantaware calls itself "the Internet of Plants." It is a Web service and modular hardware to help gardeners and farmers grow better plants with minimal efforts.

Users can download GrowCycles, whicch help growers achieve the best possible results by displaying - in sync with actual life cycle of the plant -  step by step caring instructions, trivia, suggestions, tips and alerts, delivered as text, video and pictures. These interactive events are used to help users decide what to plant, advise them of problems, and remind them of things to do in their garden or farm.

The problem: Over 1 billion people are already using popular mobile messaging apps to to talk with each other. Why can't they use the same proven method of communication and established behavioral patterns to communicate with companies as well?

Through extensive market research the Whistle team has identified a specific problem / use case in the hotel industry to which Whistle's solution can be applied; As technology progresses and millennials become increasingly dependent on technology (and more adverse to in-person, face-to-face communication), hotels are finding that guests are reluctant to report issues to hotel staff via the phone or through face to face interactions. Rather, guests have displayed a pattern of "stomaching" issues throughout the duration of their stay, only to later blindside the hotel with a negative online review, which dramatically impacts the hotels bottom line (as online reviews have become a mainstay of the consumer decision making process).

Why would hotels use this and what is your initial charge: Hotels are choosing Whistle as a pre-emptive solution to negative comments on review sites and social media. Hotels see Whistle as a progressive solution that keeps their business on the forefront of technological innovation. Hotels strategize that Whistle can help position their brand as "tech savvy" in an effort to better connect with their younger guests (especially in response to the industry wide trend of increased smart phone usage among guests).

Whistle's teired SaaS pricing structure is based on the number of rooms in the hotel. Plans start around $125/month.

How big is the market? 

The hotel market alone is huge, but perhaps the best way to address this question is to look at the number of people using mobile messaging apps (over 1 billion people). Then ask, what business wouldn't be interested in communicating with their segment of the global population? Perhaps an indication of this answer is the number of companies that have created Facebook pages simply because "that's where our customers are." More accurately, that's where their customers were. The ProGrids Platform matches related products to content in the form of a native advertising unit.  We do this by reading each page of a publisher's site and using contextual matching, retargeting, and big data analytics to determine which products to show, to which person, and on which websites.  We are the first platform where Advertisers can market their products in a native advertising unit that is predictable, easily optimized, and in real-time.

 

The Problem:

Advertisers can not programmatically market their products on content websites.  There is no platform that allows for real-time bidding, optimization, and scalability of product ads on websites.  This is a huge inefficiency that leaves millions of dollars a month in advertising budgets unspent.

 

The Solution:

Advertisers are able to bid, in real-time, for their products to show up in the ProGrids Product Widget.  They are then able to manage and optimize their campaigns by publisher, placement, and products through the ProGrids interface.
