Seed stage

Meeting management startup Do raised a $2 million seed round from NEA, Dave Morin, Kevin Colleran, Mark Pincus, Aayush Phumbhra, Jim Patterson, along with other angels.

Language learning startup Lingua.ly raised a $1 million seed round from 1776 Ventures and Yochy Investments, along with angels Shai Rephaeli and Udi Netzer.

Bento Labs, developer of a customizable home screen for Android devices, raised $2 million in seed funding from investors that include First Round Capital, Google Ventures and Social+Capital.

Edtech startup Classkick raised $1.7 million from Kapor Capital, Lightbank, Adam Pisoni, and Great Oaks Venture Capital.

VaporChat, a messaging platform that gives users complete control over the content they share, raised a $1.5 million in seed round funding led by a consortium of strategic angel investors, including Ed Wise.

EVEN Financial, a lending platform that is currently in stealth mode, raised a $2.8 million seed funding round led by Canaan Partners, along with Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Ron Suber, Brooklyn Bridge Ventures, Conversion Capital, Social Leverage, 555 Capital, Jon Kelfer and other angel investors.

TransitScreen, which provides a live display of all transportation options at a specific location, raised $600,000 from a group of unnamed VCs in transportation, real estate, and finance.

hopOn, a social travel booking site, raised $750,000 in a seed round led by New Enterprise Associates.

Webgility, a provider of e-commerce accounting integration software, raised $2.5 million from SaaS Capital.

Surveypal, an online survey platform, raised a $1 million seed round from Vendep Fund, Finnvera Venture Capital, with participation from Ari Korhonen.

Ravelin, an online fraud prevention startup, raised an undisclosed level of seed funding from Passion Capital.

Kira Talent, a talent assessment platform, raised a $1.2 million seed round led by Relay Ventures, and angel investors including Joe Canavan, Anthony Lacavera, Sam Duboc, John Kelleher and Roger Martin.

Mobile student discount program RoverTown raised $875,000 from Dave Peacock, Tom Hillman,  David Karandish and Chris Sims.

Revelator, a cloud-based software provider, raised$500,000 seed funding round from undisclosed investors. 

Visual dialogue platform GlimpzIt raised $1.1 million in seed funding from Founders Co-op, David Humphrey and Seattle Angel Conference.

Online booking platform Checkfront raised $1 million (CAD) from a group of local entrepreneurs and angel investors.

Pager, a provider of on-demand doctor visits on iOS devices, raised $10.4 million from Lux Capital, Montage Ventures, Goodwater Capital and Summation Health Ventures.

 

Early stage

MEMEBOX, a beauty e-commerce company, raised $29.35 million in funding from Formation 8, Goodwater Capital, AME Cloud Ventures, Pejman Mar Ventures, Y Combinator, Winklevoss Capital, FundersClub, Cowboy Ventures, and Altos Ventures, among others.

Diabetes startup mySugr raised $4.8 million from Roche Ventures, iSeed Ventures and XLHealth.

Splash, an event-planning company, raised $6 million in a funding round led by Spark Capital.

Mobile game developer Moonfrog Labs raised $15 million Series A from Tiger Global and Sequoia Capital.

Group buying site Joinem raised $5 million from principals of nine hedge/venture funds, as well as two senior members of Facebook’s executive team.

Crowdsourced security startup Bugcrowd raised $6 million in a round led by Costanoa Venture Capital, along with Rally Ventures, Paladin Capital Group, and Blackbird Ventures.

ThinkCERCA, a  literacy and critical-thinking software platform, raised$3.2 million Series A round led by the Follett Knowledge Fund, along with Math Venture Partners, Amicus Capital, Great Oaks Venture Capital and Chuck Templeton.

Prevoty, an enterprise security company, raised an $8 million round led by USVP. Plus Capital, Double M Capital, Core Ventures Group, Inventures Group, Daher Capital, Digi Venture Fund and Karlin Ventures also participated.

E8 Security, a provider of cyber security analytics solutions, raised $9.8 million in series A funding led by March Capital Partners, with participation from Allegis Capital and The Hive.

B2C communications provider Yallo raised $4 million in Series A funding led by Carmel Ventures.

HealthMyne, a healthcare informatics company, raised $4.5 million in a Series A round led by Venture Investors and 4490 Ventures, along with HealthX Ventures and several angel investors.

 

Late stage

Subscription billing platform Zuora raised a $115 million funding round from Wellington Management Company, Blackrock, Premji Invest, Passport Capital, BenchmarkCapital, Greylock Partners, Redpoint Ventures, Index Ventures, Shasta Ventures, Vulcan Capital, Next World Capital, Dave Duffield and Marc Benioff.

 Recruiting optimization platform Greenhouse raised $7.5 million round  led by investor Social+Capital Partnership, with additional funding from Resolute Ventures and Felicis Ventures.

Cloud security company Elastica raised $30 million in a Series B round led by Third Point Ventures, with participation from Mayfield Fund and Pelion Venture Partners.

Medical device company Cardiac Dimensions raised $43 million from Life Sciences Partners, Aperture Venture Partners and an international syndicate of institutional investors from CanadaAustralia and the U.S., including Lumira Capital, M.H. Carnegie & Co., and Arboretum Ventures.

Looker, provider of a SaaS business intelligence platform, raised a $30 million Series B round led by Meritech Capital Partners, with participation from Sapphire Ventures, Redpoint Ventures, First Round Capital, and PivotNorth.

ChargeBee, a provider of automated Subscription Billing Platform, raised $5 million in a round led by Tiger Global with participation from Accel Partners. 

E-hailing and ridesharing service Lyft raised $530 million in a funding round led by Rakuten.

Mobile messaging app Snapchat raised a $200 million in a funding round from Alibaba.

Highfive, a provider of video conferencing device and cloud software for businesses, raised $32 million in a round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with participation from Andreessen Horowitz, General Catalyst, Google Ventures, SV Angel, Aaron Levie and Marc Benioff.

SignalFx, provider of monitoring platform for modern applications, raised a $20 million Series B funding round led by Charles River Ventures with participation from Andreessen Horowitz.

SpareFoot, a marketplace for finding and booking self-storage, raised $33 million in a round led by Revolution Growth,  with participation from Insight Venture Partners and Monkfish Equity.

SimpliVity, a provider of hyperconverged infrastructure for IT, raised $175 million in Series D funding led by Waypoint Capital, with Accel Partners, Charles River Ventures, DFJ Growth, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) and Meritech Capital Partners also contributing.

Ensogo, a daily deals and discounts site, raised $7.6 million in a funding round from Ward Ferry Management. 

Food delivery service Delivery Hero received a €52 million investment from Rocket Internet. 

Food delivery service foodpanda received a €37 million investment from Rocket Internet.

Agilence, a provider of SaaS based next-generation exception reporting solutions, raised $4.3 million in a round led by Laurel Capital Partners, with Drayton Park Capital, Granite Ventures, Next Stage Capital and Aster Capital also participating,

StreetShares, a peer-to-peer lending marketplace for small business loans, raised $200 million in debt financing from Direct Lending Investments, Community Investment Management (CIM) and Eagle Bank Corp.

VENITI, a medical device company, raised $17 million in a Series C funding round led by Baird Capital, Tekla Healthcare and Tekla Life Science Investors.

Independa, a providcer of integrated community engagement and remote care technologies, raised $6 million in a Series B funding round from undisclosed investors. 

RayVio, a developer of UV LED based solutions, raised $9.3 million in Series B funding from Applied Ventures, Augment Ventures, New Ground Ventures, Tolero Ventures, DCM Ventures and Capricorn Investment Group.

Digital currency company 21 Inc raised $116 million from investors that included Andreessen Horowitz, RRE Ventures and Qualcomm Ventures.
