Seed stage

Health Gorilla, an online healthcare marketplace to connect doctors with diagnostic labs, raised $1.2 million in financing led by True Ventures.

PlayFab, a cloud-based provider of tools and services for building and managing online games, raised a $2.5 million seed round from Larry Bowman, Startup Capital Ventures, and angels including Scott Banister, Jason Kapalka, Chris Carvalho, Patrick Wyatt, and John Spinale.

Business analytics company Vantage Analytics raised $1.1 million in a round led by Real Ventures and joined by several angel investors, including PBX Innovations, Brad Badeau, Greg Wolfond, and Mike Monteith.

Algorithmia, a cloud marketplace for algorithms, raised $2.4 million in seed funding led by Madrona Venture Group with participation from Rakuten Ventures, Deep Fork Capital as angel investors such as Oren Etzioni and Charles Fitzgerald.

Swift Navigation, creator of a high accurasy GPS system, raised $2.6 million in a round led by First Round Capital, with Fall Line Capital, Felicis Ventures, Kal Vepuri, Lemnos Labs, Qualcomm Ventures, and VegasTechFund also participating.

Mark One, the company behind the Vessyl smart cup, which knows and tracls everything a person drinks, raised $3 million in seed funding led by Felicis Ventures and Horizons Ventures

Product Hunt, a social network for tech products, raised a $1 million seed funding round from Y Combinator, A-Grade Investments, Abdur Chowdhury, Andrew Chen, betaworks, Brenden Mulligan, Cowboy Ventures, CrunchFund, Google Ventures, Greylock Discovery Fund, Jack Altman, Ludlow Ventures, Naval Ravikant, Nir Eyal, Slow Ventures, SV Angel, Tradecraft and Vayner/RSE.

Meedoc, an app for patients to connect with their doctor via online video, raised a $1.5 million seed round from unnamed investors from the healthcare industry — spanning the fields of pharma, care providers, pharmacists, doctors and medical regulation.

Docker hosting service Tutum raised a $2.65 million seed round led by RTP Ventures with participation from Azure Capital Partners and angel investors.

LendLayer, a provider of loans to software bootcampers, raised $400,000 in seed funding led by Jann Tallinn.

Rock Health, a seed fund that invests in digital health startups, added eight new companies to its portfolio including Accountable, Acumen, Aptible, Benchling, TelePharm and Welkin Health. 

 

Early stage

Real-time inventory and business management solution Stitch Labs raised $3.5 million from True Ventures and Costanoa Ventures.

EyeVerify, a company that developed biometric technology to eliminate passwords on smart devices, raised $6 million in Series A funding round from Qihoo 360, Sprint and Wells Fargo.

Stealth wearables startup OnBeep raised $6.25 million from Riche Levandov, Matt Mullenweg and others.

Online and mobile food ordering and delivery service OrderUp raised $7 million in Series A venture funding led by Revolution Ventures with participation from Tim O’Shaughnessy.

Russian music streaming platform Zvooq raised $20 million in Series A funding led by Ulmart, with participation from Essedel Capital.

WebLinc, a commerce platform provider for online retailers, raised a $6 million Series A round from Safeguard Scientifics.

DNA sequencing technology company uBiome raised $4.5 million from angel investors and Andreessen Horowitz.

British online real estate platform Purplebricks raised a £7 million funding round from Neil Woodford.

Mobile gmAT brain trainer LTG Exam Prep Platform raised $3 million from Tal Education Group, Atlas Venture, Jaime McCourt, Yongjin Group and Zhen Fund.

Fancred, a social app that lets users capture their favorite sports moments, raised $3 million round led by Atlas Ventures and Militello Capital, along with Breakaway Innovation Group.

Hightower, an online platform for the commercial leasing industry, raised a $6.5 million Series A round led by Bessemer Venture Partners and Thrive Capital. Previous investors, including RRE Ventures, Red Swan Ventures, David Tisch, Lee Linden and Brandon Shorenstein, also participated.

Chain, a development platform for Bitcoin, raised a $9.5 million round of funding led by Khosla Ventures, along with RRE Ventures, Thrive Capital, and SV Angel.  

GuardiCore, a developer of security solutions for modern data centers, raised $11 million round of funding led by Battery Ventures, with participation from Greylock IL and undisclosed strategic investors.

 

Late stage

PernixData a server-side storage intelligence company, raised a $35 Series C round of funding led by Menlo Ventures, along with Marc Benioff, Jim Davidson, Steve Luczo, Kleiner Perkins Caulfield and Byers, Lightspeed Ventures, Lane Bess, Mark Leslie and John Thompson.

Payment processing company Square received an undisclosed investment from Victory Park Capital.

Adtech company AppNexus raised $60 million from "a large, Boston-based public equity and asset management firm."

Enlighted, a smart sensor network and lighting control company, raised $20 million in a funding round from Draper Nexus Ventures, Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, RockPort Capital Partners, Draper Fisher Jurvetson and Intel Capital.

Local services marketplace Thumbtack raised $100 million in a round led by Google Capital, with Tiger Global Management, Sequoia Capital, and Javelin Venture Partners participating.

Video creation marketplace StudioNow raised $5 million in a Series B round led by FCA Venture Partners with participation from Claritas Capital.

Stealth security company vArmour raised $36 million in funding, including a Series B round led by Menlo Ventures and a Series C round led by Columbus Nova Technology Partners, Citi Ventures and Work-Bench Ventures.

Poppin, an e-commerce company that  designs and sells its own office products, raised $17 million in Series C funding from Fifth Third Financial Corporation, West Capital Advisors, Shasta Ventures, First Round Capital, and Creative Capital.

Enterprise mobile app provider DoubleDutch raised $19 million in a round led by Mithril Capital Management, with Bessemer Venture Partners, Index Ventures, Bullpen Capital, Enspire Capital also participating.

FeeX, a crowdsourcing financial intelligence company, raised $6.5 million led by Horizons Ventures, along with Blumberg Capital.

Alfresco Software, an enterprise content management provider, raised $45 million led by Sageview Capital, along with Accel Partners, Mayfield Fund and SAP Ventures.

Xamarin, a mobile application development platform, raised a $54 million Series C financing round led by Charles River Ventures, Floodgate, Ignition Partners, Insight Venture Partners, and Lead Edge Capital.

FarmLink, a company that helps farmers maximize their productivity, raised a $40 million Series B financing led by OpenAir Equity Partners, with Thorndale Farm, Early Investments, and private investors Don Walsworth and John Rose.  

Healthsense, a provider of technology-enabled care solutions for the senior care continuum, raised $10 million led by Mansa Capital, with Merck Global Health Innovation Fund and Radius Ventures also participating. 

The Resumator, a recruiting platform for small businesses and growing enterprises, raised $15 millionn a round led by Volition Capital, with participation from Rincon Venture Partners, Birchmere Ventures, Blue Cloud Ventures and Riverfront Ventures. 

Comprehend Systems,a provider of  visualization and analytics tools, raised a $21 million Series B round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners, with Sequoia Capital participating.
