Airbnb really really apologizes; AngelPad extra cash; Twitter raises a "significant" round from DST

Finally bringing some real closure to its public relations nightmare, AirBnB CEO Brian Chesky has issued an official apology via the AirBnB blog

 

AngelPad upped its investment offer for startups from $20,000 to $120,000.

 

BetterWorks, a platform for making rewarding work environments, raised an $8 million Series A round led by Redpoint Ventures.

 

CampusBookRentals.com, an online textbook rental marketplace, raised $20 million from Level Equity, Five Elms Capital and Cherokee & Walker.

Surprise, surprise: the number one preferred social login preference for Q2 2011 was Facebook.

 

File sharing startup Minus, raised $1 million in seed funding from IDG Capital Partners.

 

Only 15% of the average local business’s Facebook fans are actually from the same city in which the business is located.
