Sandberg says that she will use her position to continue her last husband's vision for the company

It's now been over two months since the tech world was rocked by the sudden and unexpected death of SurveyMonkey CEO Dave Goldberg, while he was vacationing in Mexico in early May. Sad as it is to say, though, the company does have to move forward without him, but at least now we know some part of Goldberg's vision will continue to live on.

Goldberg's famous wife, Sheryl Sandberg, COO of Facebook, has joined the board of directors at her late husband's company, it was announced on Monday.

Her role as a board member, she said, is to ensure that Goldberg's vision for SurveyMonkey will come to fruition,

Ever since Dave joined SurveyMonkey six years ago, I watched him and his team execute on their mission to help people make better decisions,” Sandberg said in a statement. “I’m looking forward to working with the board and this amazing team and help to realize Dave’s vision of building a lasting company that will impact the way we all do business for years to come.”

Also joining the board of directors at the company is David Ebersman, chief executive officer of Lyra Health, and the former CFO of Facebook.

Upon Goldberg's death, SurveyMonkey had revealed that  Zander Lurie, a Senior Vice President at GoPro, and a SurveyMonkey board member since 2009, would serve as temporary Executive Chairman of the SurveyMonkey board for a period of three months.

In this role, the company said, he would support the team while the board conducts a search for a new CEO. Once a new CEO was found, Lurie would go back to being a board member.

That plan seems to have changed, as the company also announced Monday that Lurie has been named permanent chairman of the board. While Lurie is also going to continue to hold his position at GoPro, there was no mention of how the search for a new CEO is currently shaping up.

VatorNews has reached out to SurveyMonkey for more information regarding the CEO search, and if Lurie is a potential candidate. We will update this story if we learn more.
