Seed stage

Conversa Health, a provider of patient relationship management services, raised a $2.5 million seed round from undisclosed healthcare angel investors.

Swiss e-mail service ProtonMail raised $2 million in funding from Charles River Ventures and the Fondation Genevoise pour l’Innovation Technologique. 

MHB Labs, a men's health research and development company, raised a $1.1 million seed round from Romulus Capital and other angel investors including physicians and biotechnology entrepreneurs.

Joyable, a web service people can use to track and eventually improve their mental condition, raised $2.05 million in seed funding from undisclosed investors. 

Her (formerly Dattch) a dating app for queer women, raised $1 million from investors that included Alexis Ohanian, Garry Tan and Michael Birch.

Female health app Clue raised a $2 million round from Brigitte Mohn, French Groupe Arnault, and entrepreneurs and executives from Spotify, Dropbox and SoundCloud.

Initiafy, a job training platform for contractors and short-term workers, raised $1.5 million in seed funding from investors including Delta Partners Group and ACT Venture Capital.

Petcube, a company that keeps people connected with their pets, raised a $1.1 million seed round co-led by AVentures Capital and Almaz Capital with participation from SOSVentures, David Michaels and Nick Bilogorskiy. 

Dataminr, which transforms the Twitter stream into actionable alerts, raised $130 million from investors that included Fidelity, Wellington, Credit Suisse, John Mack, Vikram Pandit, Tom Glocer, Noam Gottesman, Nicolas Berggruen, WorldQuant Ventures, Glynn Capital and Goldman Sachs.

Software startup Altocloud raised a $2 million seed funding round led by Delta Partners, Digicel Group and ACT Venture Capital.

On-demand alcohol startup Thirstie raised a $1.1 million seed round from from individual investors including Rakesh Gupta.

Gi Bike, developer of all-in-one electric folding bike, raised $1 million from a group of strategic investors and Incutex.

Data science platform Sense raised a $1.1 million round of seed funding from Granite Ventures, Illuminate Ventures, Susan Athey, Scott Banister, and Andrew McCollum.

Clear Flight Solutions, creator of “robird” drones that mimic the flight of peregrine falcons, raised €1.6 million ($1.7 million) from Cottonwood Euro Technology Fund.

 

Early stage

Shuddle, a rideshare service designed specifically to transport busy families, raised $9.6 million in a Series A funding round led by RRE Ventures with participation from Comcast Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, Accel Partners and angels.

Clearpath Robotics, a global robotics company, raised $11.2 million in a round led by RRE Ventures with participation from iNovia Capital.

GelSight, 3D high-resolution imaging company, raised an undisclosed amount of Series A funding in a round led by Ping Fu, with Omega Funds also participating. 

1Mainstream, a digital TV distribution platform for deploying HD video services, raised a $5 million funding round from Sky. 

Reltio, an enterprise data-driven applications and modern data management company, raised a $10 million Series A round from Crosslink Capital and .406 Ventures.

Advanced threat detection innovator Interset raised a $10 million round led by Toba Capital, and Informatica, along with Anthem Venture Partners and Telesystem Ltd.

Twin Prime, a mobile data delivery optimization company, raised a $9.5 million Series A funding round led by DFJ and True Ventures with participation from Milliways Ventures and Moment Ventures.

Sentisis, a natural language processing startup, raised a $1.3 million Series A funding round, led by Axon Partners Group and the Fundación José Manuel Entrecanales. Startcaps Ventures and 500 Startups, also participated.

Programmatic advertising company Genius Monkey raised a $2 million funding round from undisclosed investors. 

Big-data startup Tachyon Nexus raised $7.5 million in a Series A funding round from Andreessen Horowitz.

VarageSale, which organizes items into moderated geographic communities, raised an undisclosed amount in Series A funding led by Sequoia Capital.

Blue Pillar, a provider of power and energy management solutions, raised a $14 million round led by EnerTech Capital, along with Maryland Venture Fund, Allos Ventures, Arsenal Venture Partners and Claremont Creek Ventures.

Draft, a daily fantasy sports app, raised $3.5 million in Series A funding in a round led by Upfront Ventures, along with Advancit Capital, BoxGroup, the Chernin Group and QueensBridge Venture Partners.

Health analytics platform Healthentic raised $3.75 million in from Corvesta, Inc., Hawaii Dental Service, WDS Holdings LLC, and WYSSTA Investments, Inc.

 

Late stage

Sales acceleration platform InsideSales.com raised a %60 million round led by Salesforce Ventures with participation from Microsoft, Polaris Partners, Kleiner Perkins Caufield Byers, Hummer Winblad, U.S. Venture Partners and Zetta Venture Partners.

Glooko, a creator of a tracking device that focuses on patients with diabetes, raised $16.5 million in a Series B round from Canaan Partners, Medtronic, The Social + Capital Partnership, Samsung, and smaller original angel investors.

Healthcare data warehousing and analytics company Health Catalyst raised a $70 million round led by Norwest Venture Partners, with contributions from Sequoia Capital, Kaiser Permanente Ventures, Sorenson Capital, CHV Capital and Partners HealthCare.

Russian online travel agency Oktogo raised more than $5 million in funding from MCI Management and Mangrove Capital Partners.

Chinese online used car auction company Uxin raised a $170 million round from Baidu and Coatue.

Online content engagement platform PlayBuzz raised $16 million in a Series B round led by 83North, with Saban Capital, Carmel Ventures and FirstTime Ventures also participating. 

Collective Health, a self-insurance platform provider, raised $38 million in a round led by Founders Fund and New Enterprise Associates, with Formation 8, Redpoint Ventures, RRE Ventures, Subtraction Capital and Rock Health participating. 

FiftyThree, the company behind drawing app Paper, raised $30 million in Series B funding from New Enterprise Associates.

Birst, on-demand business intelligence and analytics provider, raised $65 million in a round led by Wellington Management Company LLP, along with all existing investors including Sequoia Capital, Hummer Winblad, DAG Ventures and Northgate Capital.

Darktrace, a provider of Enterprise Immune System technology, raised $18 million from investors including Invoke Capital, Talis Capital, Hoxton Ventures and private individuals.

Univita Health, a provider of post-acute and home healthcare solutions, secured a credit facility of $40 million from Genstar Capital and a private lender.

Social bookmarking service Pinterest raised $367 million from investors that included Andreessen Horowitz and Bessemer Venture Partners.

Peatix, a Japan-headquartered mobile event and ticketing startup, raised a $5 million Series B round led by Digital Garage, along with  Singapore Press Holdings, Sunny Side Up, Fidelity Growth Partners Japan and Draper Nexus.

Fundbox, a cash flow optimization tool for small businesses, raised $40 million in a Series B round led by General Catalyst Partners, with Khosla Ventures, Shlomo Kramer, Blumberg Capital and NyCa Investment Partners.

Quid, an artificial intelligence company raised$39 million Series D round led by Liberty Interactive Corporation, with participation from ARTIS Ventures, Buchanan Investments, Subtraction Capital, Tiger Partners, Thomas H. Lee Limited Family Partnership II, Member Michael Patsalos-Fox and Charles Lho.

Glispa, a digital marketing and mobile ad startup, raised $77 million from Market Tech Holdings.

Sakti3, a developer of solid-state rechargeable lithium ion battery technology, raised $15 million from Dyson.

Cyber security platform Vidder raised $12 million in a Series B round led by LDV Partners, with participation from Presidio Ventures, ONSET Ventures and Voyager Capital.
