Android users at increased risk of malware infection; Facebook acquires a digital book company

 Get Satisfaction  raised a $10 million Series B round of funding led by Bruce Cleveland, general partner at at InterWest.

Android users are now twice as likely to encounter malware today than they were six months ago, and three out of ten Android users are likely to encounter a Web-based threat on their device each year.

Digital textbook platform Inkling closed of a $17 million Series B round of funding led by Tenaya Capital, with help from Jafco Ventures, Pearson Education, and Sequoia Capital.

Investment platform Lending Club closed a $25 million investment round led by Union Square Ventures.

Digital book creator Push Pop Press has been acquired by Facebook. Terms of the deal have not been disclosed.

 

 

Social music mixing site Turntable.fm is close to securing a $7.5 million round of funding led by Union Square Ventures, valuing the startup at $37.5 million.

Today's entrepreneur is Alvin Mullins, founder and CEO of Stagester, a live streaming platform to help live performance venues and artists make more money from their live performances and stay in closer constant contact with their fans.
