The Cambridge and London based leading Video search technology and OVP provider has rolled out
its HTML5 Video Delivery and has solved Timepoint Playing for iPhone & iPad which up until now had not been done .
Doovle Limited, the London and Cambridge-based video search consultancy and online video platform vendor has upgraded its video delivery platform to bring identical HTML5 streaming compatibility in line with its existing Flash-based solutions.
With Doovle, customers can now deliver their videos from the Amazon Cloudfront global CDN to Mac/PC users via Flash streaming and to iPhone/iPad users via HTML5 streaming. And Doovle customers only have to store a single H264 MP4 video file that is compatible with both Flash and HTML5 players, dramatically reducing the cost of cloud storage.
Doovle has also solved the problem of instant timepoint playing for iPhone and iPad users, bringing its “search-inside-the-video” offering to Apple mobile devices.
Doovle’s video search technology enables users to search for words and phrases that occur in the soundtrack of large collections of video and to watch matched scenes immediately by playing video from timepoints in the search results.
For video search users, it is important that they can click a search result and immediately start watching the scene they were searching for. The iPad and iPhone do not normally allow HTML5 streamed videos to “autoplay”, nor do they make it easy to jump in a single click to a defined start-time. The current lack of a “starttime” parameter in the HTML5 video tag definition has made life awkward for deep video search providers.
Doovle, however, has solved this problem, enabling its customers to deploy deep video search for iPhone and iPad users, ensuring that the end-user experience is the same as for Flash-based search and delivery systems with instant timepoint playing direct from search results.
