Our second Splash event, held in May, was another solid gathering, with a lot of positive feedback about our keynote speakers, Zappos Tony Hsieh (who gave a standing-ovation speech) as well as gWallet CEO Gurbaksh Chahal – two men who built and sold companies for several hundred million by the time they were 25-years-old.

The overall Splash winner was Udemy, a site that wants to empower teachers or would-be teachers by providing them a platform to hold online courses. The top 10 finalists included iChange, Pana.ma, Arkayne, YouHaveIWant, DormNoise, Mindbloom, Envolve, Baduku.com, and Hey! You Up There!

Here’s some photos of our May Splash event, including photos of our afterparty with Mayfield’s Raj Kapoor, Norwest’s Tim Chang, Phil Kaplan (Charles River Ventures EIR), and Prashant Fluroria and Ethan Beard of Facebook.

Our next Splash event will be held on September 30th, at Cafe du Nord, in San Francisco. So far, our speakers include Groupon CEO and founder Andrew Mason, Twitter COO  Dick Costolo (who also sold his company Feedburner to Google for $100m), and Kevin Hartz, CEO and founder of Eventbrite. If you want to be one of the top 10 startups presenting, be sure to watch our competition page. The online competition for Sept. 30 Splash will be live soon.
