Lawdingo, Primary Data, Kumu Networks, Contego all raised money this week

Seed stage

Lawdingo, which helps people find and connect with lawyers online, raised $690,000. The funding came from a group of angel investors that included: Kartik Hosanagar, Nathaniel Stevens, Gene Alston, Andrew Moroz, Igor Ryanbenkiy and Igor Matsanyuk.

Runnable, a centralized location for finding code, raised $2 million in a round led by Sierra Ventures, with additional investments from Resolute.VC, Angel Pad, 500 startups, Hiten Shah and Issac Roth.

Snapverse, an app that ler users pair 20-second videos with their favorite songs, raised $3.5 million in a personal investment from John Hannan of Apollo Management.

Layer, a communications platform for mobile and web apps, raised $6 million in seed funding from CrunchFund, Data Collective, SV Angel, AME Cloud Ventures, e.Ventures, Ash Patel, Fuel Capital, and Greycroft.

Social video app FightMe raised $500,000 in seed funding from an undisclosed London investor.

Trustev, provider of anti-fraud technology for online transactions, raised a $3 million seed funding round from Greycroft Partners, Mangrove Capital Partners, ACT Venture Capital, Telefónica’s Wayra, and Enterprise Ireland.

Blend, an app for college students that gives them free stuff for attending events, raised $1.325 million in seed funding from Kittu Kolluri, Nickhil Jakatdar, Ramu Sunkara, and Cristian Burci. 

BERG Cloud, the platform and technology behind the Little Printer, raised $1.3 million in funding from Connect Ventures, Initial Capital and Index Ventures.

 

Early stage

Q Factor, provider of solutions to improve the delivery and viewing of content on mobile devices, received $6.5 million from Sigma Prime Ventures and Venrock. 

Novasentis, formerly Strategic Polymer Sciences, a producer of sensory-feedback technology, raised $8 million led by Samsung Ventures and Chengwei Capital.

IfOnly, which "offers members unique and memorable experiences with top luminaries" raised $12 million in funding from Marc Benioff, Yuri Milner, Nirav Tolia, Dave Goldberg, Mark Pincus, Jeremy Stoppelman, Owen Van Natta, Hosain Rahman, Marissa Mayer, New Enterprise Associates, Khosla Ventures, Founders Fund, American Express Ventures, the Advance/Newhouse arm of Conde Nast and Allen & Co.

Stratoscale, a developer of virtualization technology, raised $10 million in Series A financing from Battery Ventures and Bessemer Venture Partners.

Altia Systems, developer of video and web collaboration service PanaCast system, raised $6.7 million from Naya Ventures. 

Digital currency company Circle Internet Financial raised $9 million from Jim Breyer, Accel Partners and General Catalyst Partners.

Contego Fraud Solutions, a risk management software company, raised £900,000 ($1.4 million) from the Rainbow Seed Fund, the Angel CoFund, London Business Angels, Surrey 100, Thames Valley Investment Networ, and new angels who have joined existing angels.

 

Late stage

Nextdoor, a local social network for neighborhoods, raised $60 million. The round was led by John Doerr, Mary Meeker, and Lee Fixel and included Comcast Ventures, Benchmark, Greylock Partners, and Shasta Ventures.

Jibe, a provider of recruiting technology solutions, closed a $4 million credit facility from Silicon Valley Bank.

Magisto, a service for creating personal movies on mobile devices, closed a $13 million Series C round from Qualcomm Ventures, SanDisk Ventures and existing investors, including Magma Venture Partners and Horizons Ventures.

TabTale, a creator of interactive books, games, and educational apps for children, raised $12 million in a round co-led by Qualcomm Ventures and Magma Venture Partners. Vintage Investment Ventures and other private investors also participated.

Rumble Entertainment, which develops multi-platform, free-to-play games, closed a $17.5 million Series B funding round led by Nexon. TriplePoint Capital, Google Ventures and Khosla Ventures, and additional strategic investors also participated. 

Brighter, a free alternative to dental insurance, secured $15 million in a Series C funding round led by Tenaya Capital with participation from Mayfield Fund and Benchmark. 

Paxata, a platform that lets business analysts make data sets ready for analytics, closed an $8 million Series B round led by Accel Partners.

6Wunderkinder, the company behind task management app Wunderlist, raised $30 million in Series B funding from Sequoia Capital, Earlybird and Atomico.

Online shopping destination Nomorerack closed a $40 million Series B funding round led by Oak Investment Partners and HTV Industries.

Data storage company Primary Data raised $50 million from Accel Partners, Battery Ventures, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Wing Venture Partners and Cedar Fund.

Kumu Networks, developer of technology to double the capacity of wireless networks, received $15 million in Series B funding led by Third Point Ventures, and joined by NEA and Khosla Ventures.
