Cloud data management business ParElastic raised $5.7 million in a Series A round financing led by General Catalyst Partners. The company’s existing investors Point Judith Capital, CommonAngels and LaunchCapital also participated.
Fashion Project, an online store where women can donate their high-end designer items, closed an $1.8 million in seed funding from Atlas Ventures, High Peak Ventures, Schooner Capital, and other angel investors.
Bitcoin startup Coinsetter closed a seed round totaling $500,000 led by Barry Silbert and Jimmy Furland, along with Charles Songhurst, Ben Davenport, and Roger Ver.
Free car shopping service AutoRef raised $850,000 in a seed funding round led European online car marketplace, AutoScout24, which is owned by Deutsche Telekom. T-Venture, the venture arm of Deutsche Telekom, Innovation Works, local angels and other investors, also participated.
Xeneta, a price comparison service for sea freight, received €1.2 million ($1.56 million) in an institutional financing round led by Stockholm-based venture capital firm Creandum with Norwegian private investment company Alden co-investing.
Eduson.tv, a new online business learning service, secured around $1 million in funding from angels including Groupon Russia founders.
Learn-to-code platform Tynker raised $3 million in seed funding from 500 Startups, NEA, Felicis Ventures, and a group of other angels and institutions.

Wandera, which is help businesses manage mobile data, raised a $7 million Series A round of financing from Bessemer Venture Partners.
Subscription e-commerce and content company BarkBox raised $5 million in a round of funding led by RRE, with help from existing investors Resolute VC, Lerer Ventures, Polaris Ventures, 500 Startups, Bertelsmann, and Vast Ventures.
Optimizely, which helps companies A/B test versions of their website, raised $28 million in a Series A funding round led by Benchmark Capital with participation by Bain Capital Ventures, Battery Ventures, InterWest Partners, and Google Ventures.
Ad accountability company Sticky raised a $3 million funding round from European tech investors Conor and Northzone.
Cydan, an orphan drug accelerator, raised $16 million in venture backing. The round was led by New Enterprise Associates and Pfizer Venture Investments, with participation from Alexandria Real Estate Equities.
LevelEleven, a company focused on enterprise gamification and CRM solutions, completed its $1.5 million seed financing with an additional $500,000. The round was led by Detroit Venture Partners with participation from private equity investor Rick Inatome, Hyde Park Venture Partners, and The First Step Fund.
Nexgate, which provides social infrastructure governance for the enterprise, raised $3.5 million in a Series A round of financing led by Sierra Ventures.
CompStak, provider of a database of commercial lease information, raised $4.45 million in a Series A round led by Canaan Partners and with participation from 500 Startups, Founder Collective, and Expansion VC.
Syros Pharmaceuticals, a life sciences company that is focused on treating disease by mapping gene regulatory circuits, completed a $30 million Series A financing led by company Co-founders ARCH Venture Partners and Flagship Ventures.
CloudCheckr, a comprehensive enterprise solution, raised $2 million in a Series A round led by Garrison Capital with Genesee Capital also participating.
Online food retail company Relay Foods raised $8.25 million in a round of funding from unnamed investors.
Social trivia platform developer Plain Vanilla raised $2.4 million in a Series A round led by Greycroft Ventures, with help from Tencent, IDG Ventures, and BOLDstart Ventures.
Late-stage
Online learning site Treehouse raised $7 million in a Series B round led by Kaplan Ventures, with help from The Social+Capital Partnership.
WellTok, creator of the CafeWell social health platform, raised $18.7 million in a Series B round from Emergence Capital Partners, InterWest Partners and New Enterprise Associates.
DudaMobile, a do-it-yourself mobile website solution for small businesses, raised $10.3 million in new funding, led by Pitango Venture Capital and Oren Zeev from Orens Capital.
FourSquare raised $41 million in a convertible debt round led by Silver Lake Partners’ Waterman growth debt fund. Andreessen Horowitz, Union Square Ventures, O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and Spark Capital also participated.
Semiconductor startup Quantance raised $12 million in Series D funding from TD Fund, Granite Ventures, InterWest Partners and DoCoMo Capital. The company manufactures 4G/LTE power supplies.
Clean Power Finance, a financial services and software provider for the solar industry, raised $37 million from Google Ventures, KPCB, Claremont Creek Ventures and three utility holding companies, including Edison International and Hennessey Capital.
Investing platform Motif Investing raised $25 million from Goldman Sachs as the lead. Existing invstors, including Ignition Partners, Foundation Capital and Norwest Venture Partners, participated in the round as well.
PrePlay, a mobile gaming company focused on sports games, raised $4.7 million in Series B Financing, in a round led by Trilogy Equity Partners, and joined by RSE Ventures.
