The buzz about Apple getting into the mapping ecosphere has been in talks since 2009 when it bought Placeware. Then people new that Apple was ramping up in 2010 when the company acquired a provider of 3D mapping solutions, Poly9. Then, last year, Apple bought C3, a company that provides 3D mapping technology.

As people countdown to the next iOS update, people are also curious just how deep the Siri integration would be with this new mapping service since many people had some kinks detected in the iPhone and Google Map communication via Siri.

Apple is expected to reveal iOS 6 in mid-June at its World Wide Developers Conference.
