Cyber Monday shopping is becoming more social with celebrity suggestions and fashion insight

For those who find Cyber Monday convenient but lacking in action and the commentary of live people, BeachMint's clothing arm, StyleMint, announced Wednesday that it will launch a live segment via Facebook of professionals shopping through those holiday deals.

The Santa Monica-based commerce company has partnered with Facebook, R to Z Media (Randi Zuckerberg's company) and Live Stream to create a video shopping experience that will stream in real time over the social network.

The first event is scheduled to stream at 10 a.m. PST with host Hillary Kerr and Katherine Power from the fashion authority WhoWhatWear.

What will this event look like

The live broadcast will be shot from the BeachMint offices in Santa Monica and will show the best fashion deals being found by the company participants in real time, so that watchers can take advantage of the same deals. There will also be remote segments with BeachMint celebrity ambassadors like Mary-Kate Olsen and Ashley Olsen, Kate Bosworth, and Rachel Bilson.

The show will air on the StyleMint Facebook page.

"We launched StyleMint as an online brand to take advantage of the incredible trend in social commerce," StyleMint Designer, Mary-Kate Olsen, said in a statement. "This event is a perfect example of why we were excited to work with an innovative company like BeachMint."

The buzz on BeachMint

The social commerce company has created celebrity-backed branches since it was founded roughly two years ago. These branches include Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen's StyleMint, Jessica Simpson's BeautyMint and Kate Bosworth's JewelMint.

Since its inception, BeachMint, has raised more than $38.5 million in funding. The co-founders Josh Berman (from MySpace) and Diego Berdakin have created a model almost identical to that of Kim Kardashian's ShoeDazzle, where people can become monthly subscribers and receive items through the mail, designed by their stable of talent.

The founders claim that they have tinkered with the idea of near 100 different channels of "mints" they could go into.

"The best shopping experiences are social ones," Randi Zuckerberg said in a statement. "Beachmint and its partners are transforming a time where people typically shop alone into a live online event where they'll be shopping alongside their favorite designers."
