Android now biggest mobile OS in the world; the White House launches Startup America Partnership

Finally topping Symbian, Google’s Android has become the leading smartphone platform in the world, according to data published today by Canalys.

Apple's domination of the iPad market is slowly slipping, as market researcher Strategy Analytics published a report today demonstrating that Android devices captured 22 percent of global tablet shipments in the last quarter, up from 2.3 percent in the previous quarter.

AOL Europe has acquired the video distribution network goviral. 

KIT digital,  provider of cloud-based video asset management solutions (VAMS) for multi-screen delivery, has separately acquired KickApps, Kewego, and Kyte, for aggregate consideration of approximately $77.2 million.
