

- YourMechanic, provider of on-demand auto repair, secured $24 million in new funding from SoftBank Capital, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Data Point Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, SAIC, Verizon Ventures, American Family Insurance, PG Ventures, Promus Ventures, and Silicon Valley Bank. The company, which previously raised seed money from Ashton Kutcher, Jeff Clavier, and Y Combinator, has raised a total of $32 million in venture financing.
- Malaysian startup Pipeline Network, which develops an IoT cellular network to connect various electronic and electrical devices including light bulbs, secured $1 million in initial round of funding, led by US-based Helios Ventures. A few unnamed investors also participated in the round, which values the startup at around $12 million.
- UniNow, a Magdeburg, Germany-based provider of a mobile app for students to organize their day-to-day university life, raised €1 million (approximately $1.09 million) in funding. IBG Fonds (IBG), which is managed by bmp Beteiligungsmanagement AG (bmp), made the investment. Co-founded by managing directors Tobias Steenweg and Stefan Wegener as a spinoff from the University of Magdeburg, UniNow provides an app that gives students access to information from different university IT systems automatically and centrally.
- Performance video advertising technology company SourceKnowledge raised $1.5 million financing round from BDC Capital, a subsidiary of the Business Development Bank of Canada (BDC). The funding will be used to scale growth in the company’s quickly expanding performance advertising platform Engage.
- Mariana, Palo Alto, California-based marketing startup, raised $2 million in a seed funding round led by Bruce Taragin, managing director of Blumberg Capital, with participation from angel investors including Gokul Rajaram, Gerri Elliott and Semil Shah. Mariana also announced the launch of its targeted B2B demand generation platform.
- Hungryroot, a maker of vegetable-based convenience foods, raised $3.7 million in a Series A financing round led by Lightspeed Venture Partners. Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Crosslink Capital, KarpReilly Investments and Great Oaks Venture Partners also participated in the round. Hungryroot has received a total of $6 million in funding to date.
- Replay Technologies, a Newark, CA-based developer of a service that encourages viewers to experience live events from any perspective, raised $13.5 million in Series B funding. The round was led by Deutsche Telekom Capital Partners. The company, which has raised $27M since inception, intends to use the funds for development of next-generation, multi-dimensional video imaging technologies.
- Savara Pharmaceuticals closed a $20 million Series C financing round.
