PixelFishVideo production company PixelFish has raised a $2.1 million second round of funding, according to an SEC Form D filing. The form doesn’t list any investors, but we can probably assume that the same ones who contributed to PixelFish’s $1.4 million Series A in October also contributed to this round.

Series A investors included founder John McIntyre, co-founder John Zdanowski (partner and CFO at River Forest Financial, LLC), and angels Mike Maples (Floodgate) and Darin Brannan. Reports say AT&T and Microsoft executives also took part in the latest round.

Both Maples and Brannan will be joining PixelFish’s board.

PixelFish produces videos for businesses at every stage–from pre-production (scriptwriting, casting) to field production (filming on location) to post-production (editing). The company specializes in corporate and local business profiles, product demos, training and education videos, and advertising spots, including TV commercials.

The typical turnaround for a video up to two minutes in length is approximately eight to ten weeks, according to PixelFish.

Headquartered just outside Los Angeles in Torrance, Calf., PixelFish is part of a rising tide of startups, including AdVideo, Spotrunner and TurnHere, that sees video as an indelible part of modern advertising campaigns.

Did you know that people remember only 20% of what they hear and only 30% of what they see, but an incredible 70% of what they both hear and see? It’s no surprise that video has quickly become a “must have” advertising, marketing and communications tool for businesses of all kinds.

Not the phone, not a print brochure, not even a web site. None of these mediums deliver your message as efficiently and cost-effectively as video.
