- SOPHiA GENETICS announced that it signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center relating to the formation of a joint venture between the two institutions, with the aim of building upon the strength of MSK innovation in clinical diagnostics and SOPHiA GENETICS’s Ai platform to potentially discover, develop, and deploy a new generation of precision oncology to patients around the world
- The Jordanian Ministry of Education signed a five-year contract extension with Pearson to continue delivering the vocational education development programme first launched in 2023, extending the partnership to 2031. Pearson first partnered with the Jordanian Ministry of Education to support the reform of the country’s technical and vocational education and training system in schools, introducing vocational qualifications into the national curriculum in support of Jordan’s Economic Vision 2033, helping to address labour market needs and tackle youth unemployment

- Accenture and the Carnegie Mellon University Software Engineering Institute partnered to launch the AI Adoption Maturity Model, a research-validated framework designed to help organizations move beyond AI experimentation to scale artificial intelligence with measurable, repeatable outcomes

- Beren Therapeutics P.B.C., the parent company of Mandos LLC and a developer of cholesterol trafficking biology and cyclodextrin-based therapeutics, raised $300 million, including a $135 million equity financing from Wellington Partners, JIC Venture Growth Investments, Founders Fund, Narya Capital, Eisai Co., Ltd., and other select institutional investors, alongside up to $165 million in a strategic financing facility with Hercules Capital
- GT Medical Technologies, a medical device company dedicated to improving the lives of patients with brain tumors, raised a $100 million Series E equity financing led by new investor Viking Global Investors with participation from existing investors, including MVM Partners, Gilde Healthcare, Evidity Health Capital, Medtech Venture Partners and FemHealth Ventures
- CeQur, a company dedicated to simplifying mealtime insulin delivery for people living with diabetes, raised a $100 million Series E financing round from undisclosed investors

- Angel Pharmaceuticals, a privately held biopharmaceutical company developing a pipeline of precisely targeted investigational medicines for cancer, autoimmune, infectious and other serious diseases in China, raised $13.5 million from Corvus Pharmaceuticals

- Stepful, a training platform that is redefining how America’s largest health systems build, train, and retain their workforce, raised $55 million a Series C funding round led by Oak HC/FT, with participation from new investors Foresite Capital, Hearst Ventures, and the Citi Impact Fund, alongside existing investors SemperVirens, Y Combinator, Intermountain Health, and ECMC Education Impact Fund

Seedcamp, Frst, No Label Ventures, and Entrepreneurs First also took part, alongside angels including Jean Nehme, Othman Laraki, and Charlie Songhurst
- Rejuvenate Bio, a biotechnology company dedicated to developing novel gene therapies for chronic age-related diseases, raised a $6 million round led by VCapital, with participation from Merck Animal Health, Connecticut Innovations, and Digitalis
- Rosso, developer of a mobile application that enables users to book blood and plasma donations at various collection centers, raised a €3 million seed round led by 360 Capital, with support from CDP Venture Capital. Angelini Investments, a group of managers and entrepreneurs, also participated
- Genomtec, a molecular diagnostics technology, raised €2.6 million from undisclosed investors
- YouLabs, a data-driven biotechnology company focused on shifting healthcare from reactive medicine to proactive prevention, raised $2.6 million in a seed funding round led by Crane Venture Partners
- TurnUp, a startup that helps dental and medical practices reduce no-shows and last-minute cancellations, raised $2 million in a seed round led by Newion, with participation from RDY Ventures
Edtech:
- Corca, a collaborative math editor for manipulating equations and exporting to LaTeX or Python, raised $7.8 million in a round led by NEA, with participation from Bloomberg Beta, Daft Capital, and NVentures, NVIDIA’s venture capital arm
Policy and government
- Physicians and medical students at the Annual Meeting of the American Medical Association House of Delegates adopted new policies to ensure AI strengthens patient care, supports evidence-based medicine, and remains under the oversight of physicians rather than replacing physician judgment, opposing the use of autonomous or semiautonomous AI systems as substitutes for physician review in coverage determinations and calling for regulations that require AI-enabled technologies to be integrated into physician-led processes
- A multistate lawsuit was filed challenging the U.S. Department of Education’s discontinuation of grants awarded to California, Rhode Island and Wisconsin under the State Personnel Development Grant program, or SPDG. The grants are meant to help fund the professional development of special education staff and support services for children with disabilities. The government cut the funds in 2025 for what the plaintiffs say were politically motivated reasons related to the Trump administration’s hostility to diversity, equity and inclusion, or DEI

- New research published in The American Journal of Psychiatry found that the earlier and more rapidly adolescents use social media, the more likely they are to experiment with substances such as alcohol, tobacco and cannabis. Many factors can lead to substance use among adolescents, experts say, including their peers and family environments. Although these new findings can provide a correlation and association between the two, they cannot prove that early social media use can cause experimentation with substances
