Female Founders In Tech Competition

Description: Quesnay's Female Founders in Tech Competition is looking for US-based technology startups with a female leader and a product relevant to fintech/insurtech. There is a distinct lack of representation and startup funding among women - the competition will provide a way to fund, support and mentor female founders in fintech/insurtech, where the gap is particularly stark. Six finalists will have access to business development guidance from industry leaders, Microsoft Azure cloud credit, and social media promotion.

Freedom From Cancer Startup Challenge

Win $2K cash prizes and potential to pitch for up to 1.2 million in startup seed funding

Description: The Center for Advancing Innovation and MedImmune have partnered to launch the Freedom from Cancer Startup Challenge (FCSC). The FCSC will feature risk mitigated, and commercially viable inventions from leading research organizations. The goal of the challenge is to accelerate and increase the volume of commercialized cancer inventions by launching new startups. Funding is provided by the Laura and John Arnold Foundation.

Betaworks - Visioncamp

Each camp company receives pre-seed funding of $200k.

Description: Visioncamp is the latest installment in betaworks' camp program--a thematically-driven, frontier tech accelerator. This camp, consisting of 11 weeks in-residence at betaworks starting in January 2018, will focus on augmented reality, computer vision, and 'camera-first' applications/services. Everything that becomes possible when the camera knows what it's seeing. Online applications for visioncamp are now open, and we expect to welcome six to ten companies to join us at betaworks in January.
