Read more...While working at a C-Level in multiple substance use treatment facilities, Renee Douthat observed the inefficient way that compliance was being managed: there was very limited or no reporting availability, making it almost impossible to quantify and aggregate information to track performance.
While looking for a software solution, she realized that nothing existed in the behavioral health care field, leading her to build Hatch Compliance, a specialized enterprise compliance software designed for the behavioral healthcare sector. The company manages all aspects of compliance and operations across human resources, operations, clinical, and medical departments by converting Joint Commission, CARF, and state accreditation standards into user-friendly forms.
On Friday, it was announced that announced Hatch Compliance was acquired by Kipu Health, a provider of technology solutions for behavioral health. No financial terms of the deal were disclosed.
The acquisition is meant to enhance Kipu's suite of offerings by adding governance, risk, and compliance (GRC) capabilities, while also empowering behavioral health organizations to navigate complex regulatory environments with confidence.
Hatch Compliance's system uses role-based permissions to make sure employees only access relevant documents and features tasks, alerts, and calendars to prevent missed deadlines. It also includes an automated learning management system for staff training assignment. By automating the collection of actionable data, Hatch is able to lower the administrative burden of compliance on staff, which is says saves time and reduces stress. Hatch also offers Compliance Consulting Services (CCS) to guide treatment facilities through the regulatory landscape.
Meanwhile, Kipu’s platform provides Customer Relationship Management (CRM) that accelerates patient intake and supports engagement from pre-admissions to alumni status; a customizable EMR; and Revenue Cycle Management (RCM) that helps businesses by managing all aspects of the revenue cycle.
The two companies had previously worked together, having partnered for the last two years, and the addition of Hatch Compliance helps Kipu become an all-in-one platform for needs of behavioral health organizations. By offering Hatch Compliance's advanced GRC solutions alongside its platform, Kipu can helps its customers navigate the complexities of regulatory compliance, reduce risks, and improve patient outcomes..
