Nana: Nana is a Bay Area-based startup that runs a free academy to teach people how to fix appliances, then gives students the option of becoming a part of its own marketplace to connect them to people needing repairs. Nana has raised $6 million in seed funding. Spero Ventures led the round, joined by Next Play Ventures (the new fund of former Linkedin CEO Jeff Weiner), former Stripe employee Lachy Groom, and numerous others. Read more
Bumped: Bumped is a Portland, Ore.-based consumer loyalty startup. Bumped has raised $10.4 million in Series A funding and $5 million in debt financing. Equity backers include Canaan Partners, Commerce Ventures, Oregon Venture Fund, and Valor Siren Ventures. Read more
Unit21 : Unit21 is a San Francisco based startup providing a no-code service that monitors for fraudulent activity online. Unit21 has raised $13 million in funding. A. Capital Ventures and Gradient Ventures, Google’s AI venture fund, contributed to Unit21’s tranche with participation from Core VC, South Park Commons, VMWare founder Diane Greene, Plaid founder William Hockey, Chime cofounders Chris Britt and Ryan King, Shape Security cofounder Sumit Agarwal, and former Venmo COO Michael Vaughan. Buoy Health: Buoy Health is an AI-powered healthcare navigation platform that was made just for times like these. The company offers patients an online portal that can give them accurate information to give them better health outcomes, as well as where to go to seek care. Buoy Health has raised $37.5M from Cigna, Humana and Optum. Read more
Carbon Health: Carbon Health is a San Francisco based multichannel healthcare platform that enables patients to access care options from a wide variety of access points, including clinics, pop-up sites, video and the company’s own mobile app. The additional capital will be used to help the company scale nationally. Carbon Health secured $100 million in a Series C funding round to keep up with growing demand. The round was led by Dragoneer Investment Group. Read more
