Weotta, Moogsoft, Cortica,, Conversocial, Appurify, Roku, TuneIn, Clip all raised funds


Clip, a new mobile payments company  that markets itself to the Spanish-speaking world, raised $1.5 million in funding from Accion, Alta Ventures, Karl Mehta, 500 StartUps, Angel Ventures Mexico, and other Angel Investors in the U.S. and Mexico.

TrackMaven, a competitive intelligence platform for marketers, closed $1.25 million in funding from AOL Ventures, Sean Glass, Hemang Gadhia, Adam Riggs, Tony Ayaz, Marc Solomon, Andy Klingenstein, David Cohen and Adam Falla., formerly Kickfolio, raised $1 million in seed funding led by Quest Venture Partners, with follow-on investment by 500 Startups and PALgenesis, and participation from angels, including Ankur Pansari, Maneesh Arora and others.

Nostalgia platform DoYouRemember raised $1 million in initial funding from unnamed investors.

Content creation platform Quill raised £1 million from Ariadne Capital's Fund and leading entrepreneur investors, including Shakil Khan, Rupert Ashe, Karen Hanton, Andrew Burge, Nick Beare, Peter Read and Andrew Grahame.

Photo-sharing service Linea closed a $4 million seed round, with investment from an undisclosed group of Angel investors.

Social sports platform Fanatix raised $1 million in seed funding from a series of undisclosed UK-based Angels.

RadPad, a photo-centric rental app, raised $200,000 in funding from Post Investment Group, along with angel Tom McInerney, Chris Ovitz, and Amplify.

India-based education startup EduKart raised $500,000 in seed capital from Kima Ventures, AKM Systems, Vibhor Mehra and Stanford alumni.

Dering Hall, a digital platform focused on high-end home design, raised $1.4 million from Lerer Ventures, Softbank Capital, Hearst Corporation, and others.

Activity-planning app Weotta raised an undisclosed amount of funding from Google Ventures, with participation from Slow Ventures and TenOneTen Capital.


Job search engine Etece closed a €450,000 Series A funding round, with investment from Mola Capital, Faraday Ventures Partners and Starcaps Ventures.

Montreal-based intercity bus travel startup Busbud completed a first round of financing totaling $1 million co-led by Canadian funds iNovia Capital and Real Ventures.

Performance optimization platform Appurify raised $4.5 million in Series A funding led by Google Ventures. Foundation Capital, Felicis Ventures, Webb Investment Network, Jay Jamisonand Raymond Tonsing also took part in the round.

Social customer service company Conversocial closed $4.4 million in a Series A2 funding round. The lead investor was UK-based Octopus Investments.

CoTap, a workplace mobile messaging app, raised$5.5 million Series A round led by Charles River Ventures, with participation from Emergence Capital Partners.

Paris-based Carnet de Mode, a marketplace for up-and-coming fashion designers,raised $1.5 million in a Series A round of financing from Elaia Partners, and angels. 

Qriously, a real-time opinion company, raised $3.5 million in a Series A round led by Spark Capital and joined by Accel Partners.

Cortica, which gives computers the capability to comprehend visual content in real time raised $1.5 million in funding from Mail.Ru Group.

Social technology firm Betapond raised a €2 million funding round led by The Ulster Bank Diageo Venture Fund.. Delta Partners and Irrus Investments also participated.

Captricity, a cloud-based service that turns paper information into digital data, raised a $4.5 million round of funding led by Chamath Palihapitiya’s Social+Capital Partnership.

Software vendor Moogsoft raised $7 million in Series A funding, in a round led by Redpoint Ventures.

Online beauty company Beautylish closed $6.5 million of a $8.64 million round from CMEA Ventures. Ron Conway, Steve Chen, and Jeremy Stoppelman.

Bloomfire, a knowledge-sharing tool for the modern workforce, added an additional $2 million from Silver Creek Ventures to its $8 million Series A funding round.



Radio app TuneIn raised a $25 million Series C round of funding led by Institutional Venture Partners, with participation from Sequoia Capital, Google Ventures and General Catalyst Partners.

Judicata, a legal research startup, closed its second round of financing, a $5.8M round led by Khosla Ventures, with participation from Keith Rabois.

Streaming device maker Roku raised $60 million in a Series F round of funding led by an unnamed institutional investor, with participation from Hearst Corporation and existing investors British Sky Broadcasting and News Corporation.

Cloudpaging company Numecent closed $13.6M in a major funding round led by T-Venture, the VC arm of Deutsche Telekom.

Spanish DIY ticketing platform Ticketea raised €3 million ($4 million) from Seaya Ventures. 

Cloud contact center software provider Five9 raised $34.5 million in private funding. $22 million is series D equity led by SAP Ventures along with Adam Street Partners, Hummer Winblad Venture Partners and Partech International. $12.5 million is a bank revolver debt facility provided by City National Bank.

Online video marketing company TubeMogul raised $10 million in a Series C tranche that was led by SingTel Innov8. Cross Creek Capital, Digital Advertising Consortium, Foundation Capital and Trinity Ventures also participated.

Visier, which provides cloud-based workforce analytics for business managers and human resource professionals, raised a $15 million Series B financing round led by Summit Partners. Existing backer Foundation Capital also participated.
