The company will add a real-time analytics solution to Webtrends' suite of offerings

Web analytics company Webtrends on Monday announced its acquisition of Reinvigorate, a real-time analytics company, from Media Temple Ventures.  The terms of the deal were not disclosed.

As the self-proclaimed “founder of the analytics industry,” Webtrends began as a Web analytics company in 1993 and has since expanded to include social media measurement, search engine optimization, and the integration of digital content and customer intelligence.  Among the 7000 brands for which Webtrends has enhanced campaigns are The New York Times, Microsoft, RIM, BMW, China Telecom, Tencent QQ, Hitachi, The Associated Press, Barclays, and more.

While Webtrends did not disclose Reinvigorate’s purchase price, the company did note in its announcement that the acquisition will provide Webtrends with a real-time analytics offering for mobile, social, and Web channels.

Previously, users could sign up with Reinvigorate for an introductory price of $10 a month and get real-time active tracking (seeing the stats on your dashboard as they happen), in addition to features like user interface heatmaps to see where you’re getting the most clicks, user tracking to see what your users are doing on your site, referral tracking to see how users are getting to your site, your users’ global regions and timezones, and more.

"We've built an incredibly powerful real-time analytics product, and the acquisition of this technology by a leading global analytics company means a better, more full-featured analytics experience for brands today," said Demian Sellfors, CEO of Media Temple Ventures. "This is just the first step in an ongoing partnership with Webtrends. We will continue to collaborate to ensure that Media Temple also benefits from this marriage of technologies through a future offering of Webtrends analytics directly to our Media Temple customers."

Reinvigorate was founded by CEO Sean McNamara in 2002 as a “passion project.”  McNamara and the Reinvigorate team will join Webtrends, and the Reinvigorate solution will continue to be offered to existing Reinvigorate customers.
