DataSift raises $6 million for tweet data; watch Lessons Learned with Clara Shih

DataSift, a Delaware corporation, today announced a $6 million round of VC funding co-led by IA Ventures and GRP Partners.

 

Fab.com, a daily deals site for design, raised $1 million in early-stage funding from Ashton Kutcher, SV Angel, SoftTech VC and previous backers First Round Capital, Baroda Ventures and The Washington Post.

Daily deal site Screamin Daily Deals (SDD) was acquired by online local media company Local.com for $12.5 million in cash, stock, and debt, with the possibility for shareholders to earn another $20 million if the company meets certain financial performance criteria during the first two years following the close of the deal.

Mobile security startup TekTrak is now available on the apps marketplace on Samsung, a leading smartphone maker.
