Oxford Cancer Analytics raises $11M to detect lung cancer via a blood test
OXcan combines proteomics and artificial intelligence for early detection
Read more...Fluther, a site which crowd sources answers in real-time, has raised $600,000 in seed funding from investors including Ron Conway, Marc Andreesen, Dave McClure and Naval Ravikant. Along with the list of well-known investors, the company also has Twitter's Co-founder, Biz Stone on board as an adviser.
The startup, which according to its blog was created by, "two guys who had never done a lick of web coding in their life," is a service in which users can ask a question, and get answers back from other users. This concept actually nothing new, other competitors include Aardvark and Yahoo Answers. What makes the site more interesting than the listed is the way Fluther shows answers being delivered in real-time, which gives more a sense of a live discussion.
San Francisco-based, Fluther said 98% of the questions asked on its site are answered.
Fluther also lets users syndicate their questions to Facebook using Facebook Connect, although it's not heavily advertised on the site. I had to find it by digging into my account settings.
We've reached out to the company asking them how they plan to make use of the new funding, but are still waiting for a response. We'll update our post with some more details after we speak with the founders.
