Mobile advertising platform hopes it can use funds to prove value of its software

Celtra, an online mobile marketing platform has secured $1.2 million in Series A financing from RSG Capital, a Slovenian based VC fund.

Cambridge, Ma., based Celtra works with brands and marketing agencies to produce and deliver targeted mobile advertising campaigns.  Brands can create mobile widgets, display ads, mobile apps, mobile banners, or integrate Celtra’s API.  The company says its already been working with leading entertainment brands including, 20th Century Fox, New Line Cinema, Warner Bros and Paramount, which have used services for movie release campaigns like Sex and the City, Tropic Thunder and Meet the Spartans.

Celtra says it can cut some major costs on these campaigns by eliminating the need for custom application development.  With its platform, users can easily build their campaigns using ‘drag and drop’ assembly features.

It seems that this round of funding comes as a make it or break it for Celtra.  In its press release Celtra said,

“This funding gives us one year time to demonstrate and prove the value of Celtra's software to the business of some major US and European brands and ad agencies. We want to be their bridge from online to mobile and take care of all their activities on mobile.”
