As part of our weekly series, we'll look at top competitions with big cash prizes, as well as competitions that have teed up the most promising startups, to finding popular startup competitions you need to know about. 

Here are some of the startup competitions that are focused on logistics companies:

 

• Startup Battlefield Dubai

Description: "TechCrunch’s Startup Battlefield is headed to Dubai on its continuing quest to find and feature the best early-stage startups around the world. We are thrilled to announce this is possible through a partnership with Area 2071: The UAE’s newly minted innovation hub. Area 2071’s ambitions align well with TechCrunch’s track-record of selecting and featuring world-class founders. Startup Battlefield Dubai will feature global startups with a focus on three categories: governance, logistics, and product distribution."

Prize: The grand-prize winner receives a US$50,000 cash prize (TechCrunch takes no equity or fees), and a paid trip for two to compete in the Startup Battlefield in San Francisco at Disrupt SF 2019

• PostalPitch StartUp competition

Description: "The Postal Innovation Platform (PIP) and PostalVision2020 have committed to partner on this initiative and make this a regular event, thus creating a platform for startups in the postal and logistics sector, connecting them with posts, logistics companies, potential investors and other stakeholders."

• Student Case Competition in Logistics and Supply Chain

Description: "The Logistics and Supply Chain Division of IISE invites nominations for the Student Case Competition. Any team with three to four student members can attend the competition to showcase their problem solving capability and analytical skills on a related LSC case."

Prize: The winning teams, first, second and third places, of the competition will be recognized at the LSC Town Hall Meeting to be held at the IISE Annual Conference & Expo in Orlando, Florida, May 19-22.

• Conexus Indiana Logistics Case Competition

Description: "With the support of more than 20 Indiana logistics companies and 18 universities and colleges, Conexus Indiana took a significant step forward today in developing the next-generation logistics workforce. "

Prize: $5,000 cash award and a 3-day experience with Indiana’s top logistics industry executives committed to developing talent to fuel Indiana’s position as the “Crossroads of America.”

• 2018 APICS Case Competition

Description: "We are excited to announce the 2018 APICS Case Competition, provided by APICS in collaboration with Deloitte Consulting LLP. Participating teams will present solutions to an exciting end-to-end supply chain management problem, as they compete for prize money and recognition. The case may involve distribution, logistics, sales and operations planning, inventory, and other operations management challenges."

Prize: The prize money pool will total $5,000 for the first, second and third place teams of the final round. New this year is a prize money pool of $2,500 for the departments/schools of the first, second and third place teams.

• National Undergraduate Supply Chain Case Competition

Description: "The Supply Chain and Operations Department, the Joseph M. Juran Center for Research in Supply Chain, Operations, and Quality, and the Supply Chain and Operations Student Club at the Carlson School of Management are proud to sponsor the 6th Annual National Undergraduate Case Competition. The purpose of the competition is to provide a unique learning opportunity for undergraduate students while raising awareness of the areas of supply chain and operations as both a field of study and as a potential career path."

Prize: The competition includes cash prizes totaling $9,000.

• Operation Stimulus Competition

Description: "Operation Stimulus is the longest running Supply Chain & Logistics student case study competition in North America. Founded in 1982, OpStim invites future leaders in the Supply Chain from the nation's preeminent Universities to learn, innovate, and solve real-world problems while simultaneously bringing together industry leaders and Supply Chain & Logistics companies championing the future of the industry."

• General Motors/Wayne State University Mike Ilitch School of Business Supply Chain Case Competition

Description: "The student competitors will be presented with the challenge of procuring advanced technology components while considering global business issues at play, like logistics costs, sustainability and more.

Students will experience the City of Detroit, the auto industry and its high-tech vehicles, and the supply chain systems that support the industry."
