No. 1 Mistake: Not reaching out to people that can help

Today's Entrepreneur is Igor Feerer, Co-founder and CEO of Angeloop. Angeloop offers startups business intelligence dashboards, cap table management tool and an easy and secure way to collaborate with their investors.

He got the taste of the entrepreneurial spirit in his senior year of college when he co-founded YGS, Inc. (auxiliary legal service firm, specializing in legal filings and subpoena delivery). Feerer and his partner had built their client base, grown a team of contractors and two years later sold the business to one of the bigger players in the space. Feerer is a graduate of Bachelor of Arts, Political Science / Legal Studies in University of San Francisco.

Angeloop self-categorizes in these areas: Business intelligenceFinancial markets, and Software as a service.

Here's a little about Feerer:

I am a(n): Entrepreneur

If you are an entrepreneur, why?
I want to change the world.

My favorite startups:
Yammer, Reddit, Airbnb, Feedly

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

The emotional peaks and troughs are a real drag and it's strange how both emotions can happen all at the same time. Overall, it isn't where you are at or where you will be but instead is the journey by which you get there. I am most thankful for the people that are taking the journey with me and love the feeling of everyone pitching in.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs make?

So many to mention. My personal mistakes have been not reaching out to people that can help for fear of embarrassing myself. This is the wrong approach and I have since learned to reach out to the people at the top of the pyramid to present my case. So what if many wont even open my email. It really only takes one response that can change everything.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

[1] Vesting schedule is a must, especially in the early days when team formation is still a bit finicky.
[2] Don't be scared to share your idea with people - it will help open many doors.
[3] Your not procrastinating, you are incubating ideas. Don't feel like you have to work, work, work and instead take some time to go for a walk and try to visualize your idea from several view points.
