Today's Entrepreneur: Joshua Kaufman, co-founder of Atly
Long-term success requires founders to prioritize perseverance, dedication, and consistency
Read more...Today's Entrepreneur is Saurabh Radhakrishnan, Co-founder of GraphWear Technologies, Inc.. GraphWear has developed a real-time dehydration, glucose, and lactic acid monitor without the need for blood or urine. Our patch analyzes your sweat in a wearable form factor which pairs with your smartphone and gives actionable metrics. This is possible because of the high sensitivity of graphene, a cutting edge nanoscale material.
Radhakrishnan, a UCLA alumni has 3 years experience in software development and 5 years of hands-on experience with nanoscale materials, he specializes at the apex of the two field with an application interest for commercial consumer products.
GraphWear Technologies, Inc. self-categorizes in these areas: Health Tracking Tools and Wearables.
Here's a little about Radhakrishnan:
The most frustrating thing about innovation is time. Having to stop product development to focus on fundraising, marketing, and business development pulls me away from my true passion: just building something cool for people who want it. The most rewarding thing is seeing a consumer really enjoy not only the concept of what we are offering, but the product itself. This is why consumer feedback and fulfillment is very important at GraphWear.
1. Do not forget to make sure what you are building has a need.
2. Make sure you ask what a consumer wants rather than assume what they want.
3. Find as many ways as possible to put off spending money.
Saurabh graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Material Science and Engineering and has just completed his M.S. in Nanotechnology from the University of Pennsylvania. With 3 years of experience in software development and 5 years of hands-on experience with nanoscale materials, he specializes at the apex of the two fields. Having worked at 3 previous startups with an interest in entrepreneurship, he brings a variety of skills to the table.
Past experience included Graphene Frontiers, Innova Dynamics, Intel, Aplix Inc., and founder of GraphWear Technologies.
GraphWear Technologies Inc is competing in the Splash Health. The top eight of the competition will compete live on stage at Splash Health on Feb. 23 at Kaiser Center, Oakland. Register here.

We are making a wearable sensor that analyzes your body non-invasively. Your body is constantly sending out biochemical information from your saliva, breath, sweat, and even earwax. We are starting with sweat analysis. Sweat is diluted and ultrafiltered blood. When your body tries to cool off, your brain sends a signal to your blood to push out water. This water comes out as sweat through your sweat ducts. Sweat brings along with it trace concentrations of electrolytes, glucose, lactic acid, and an array of proteins that are reflective of your health. By harnessing this information, we are opening a whole new door to non-invasive biomonitoring.
Our solution is possible because of the sensitivity of the Nobel Prize winning nanoscale material graphene. Via a patent pending process developed by the founders during their thesis, we can create a graphene device that has almost ideal properties which is low cost, easy to manufacture, and highly scalable.
