No. 1 Mistake: We underestimate the amount of energy, time and funds that are required to scale.

Today's Entrepreneur is Dorian Ferlauto, Founder and CEO of BriteHub. BriteHub is the trusted, safe, easy-to-use cloud based manufacturing application connecting buyers and suppliers in the product design and manufacturing space.

Ferlauto's journey into the tech world started with BriteHub. Coming out of a product development and manufacturing space she took the leap into creating an application to solve many industry problems that are just now getting a lot of attention.

BriteHub was a top eight finalist in the Vator Splash Oakland 2015 global startup competition.

BriteHub self-categorizes itself in these areas: Artificial intelligenceInstant messagingNatural languageMobile, and Communications

The top 8 finalist will compete and present live on stage in front of several hundred tech influencers (CEOs, media and investors).

Here's a little about Ferlauto:

I am a(n): Entrepreneur

Companies I've founded or co-founded: BriteHub Inc; Madelife

Companies I work or worked for: Modlivin

Achievements (products built, personal awards won): Newsweek - 13 Women in Business to Bet On disruptive women paving their way.

If you are an entrepreneur, why? I want to change the world.

My favorite startups: Anything to do with helping people, medical companies that are saving lives and making healthcare acessable

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation? Knowing you are on to something but not having the appropriate infrastructure to pull it off. Timing is everything!

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs make? We underestimate the amount of energy, time and funds that are required to scale.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur? I'm still learning this and trying to dig out of it but DO NOT LOOSE YOURSELF IN YOUR START UP!!! Every entrepreneur is unique and is fueled by something besides the company - art, exercise, food, friends, etc. What ever it may be do not stop doing these things because of work. It will be three year this August since I have been working on BriteHub and I'm just now realizing I have done nothing to fuel my soul in 3 years - besides the company. Be an individual and make sure to take care of you mind and body if not you'll loose perspective. Don't become a startup Zombie!
