This round brings the Belmont-based company's funding to more than $45 million.
Vyatta, whose physical, virtual and cloud-based infrastructures have been used by Nokia, Toyota, Dell, Boeing and other global brands, said it will use the new capital to scale its sales and engineering efforts.
The capital group, HighBAR has invested in other infrastructure software and solutions companies (Ingrian Networks and RedSeal Networks), and the company hopes that Vyatta will broaden network and operational experiences worldwide.
"The networks for cloud architectures need the security, flexibility and elasticity of Vyatta's software-based approach, not the traditional 'black box' model of legacy vendors," Roy Thiele-Sardina, managing partner at HighBAR Partner, said in a statment. "With Vyatta, HighBAR sees an opportunity to redefine how networks and datacenters are connected and secured."
Earlier this month, Vyatta announced the release of its Network OS, which routes and secures data on all virtual environments from a users desktop.
The company said that "at a time when applications are being migrated to virtualized datacenters and the cloud, Vyatta is unique in enabling the network to offer the same elasticity and mobility as the application infrastructure it supports."
The desktop software, matched with Vyatta's virtual firewall and network security features was the companies latest step in deeper and complete integration of security for all businesses users.
"Adoption of virtualized compute architectures has introduced a radical and highly disruptive demand for modern networking solutions, positioning Vyatta at the forefront to capitalize on this opportunity," said Kelly Herrell, CEO of Vyatta.
HighBAR Managing Partners Roy Thiele-Sardina and John Kim are set to join Vyatta's board of directors.
