Meet Us at the zMax, the Bellagio of Drag Strips

NHRA drag racing returns to zMax Raceway in Charlotte - considered to be the “Bellagio of rag strips” - for the 4th annual O'Reilly Auto Parts Nationals - September 15-18, 2011.

The best drag racers in the world, including John Force, Robert Height, Antron Brown, and Tony Schumacher, will compete head-to-head in the first event of Countdown to the Championship series.  The top ten teams in each class will be looking for strong races as they begin their final push for NHRA Full Throttle championship glory and become 2011 NHRA champions.

This four-day event will feature the fastest automotive machines on the planet in great old-school, side-by-side drag racing. As these teams come down the stretch towards championships, looking for any edge to grab more horsepower will be mandatory. Trust me when I say that everyone is going to be bringing their “A-Game” to Charlotte.

Among the festivities and racing at zMax Raceway, John Force is scheduled to unveil his special 9/11 commemorative Nitro Burning Funny Car to honor those who lost their lives in the 9/11 World Trade Center tragedy. John and his team are well known for doing things right, which means this is sure to be a very special and somber moment for everyone at the raceway.

You and thousands of your fellow race fans at the zMax Raceway will also feel the ground pounding shock waves as Top Fuel drivers Antron Brown, Tony Schumacher, and Spencer Massey race their dragsters down the strip, gambling on a win to bring them closer to victory and even closer still to the championship title. Make your way to the pits and see all of the action as these race teams push themselves to get their cars ready so they can get advance through their brackets and maybe set a couple of speed records at the track.

No one wants to be eliminated so you can bet there is going to be some fast moving mechanics in pit row. Along with your favorite Top Fuel and Funny Car drivers, there will also be Warren Johnson, the Jegs Brothers and the Summit Racing Team in Pro Stock car, as well as Hector Arana Jr, an up-and-coming NHRA Pro Stock Motorcycle champion.

Yes, ALL of your favorite drivers and riders will be on hand September 15-18 at zMax Raceway in Charlotte, NC. Get your tickets, load the family and come out to the track and make it a day of it at the races.
