Originally founded in 2006 as BlogTalkRadio, the New York City-based company has developed a platform that allows businesses to record and syndicate audio content using only a phone (or other mobile device or computer) and a Web browser.
The content is published with built-in syndication, along with marketing tools for social media and mobile devices, as well as a full dashboard of tools for adding sound effects and music, or a switchboard to moderate callers. All of these features are available on-the-go, right on a user’s mobile phone.
Additionally, because audio content can be created on a mobile device, multiple people can chip in remotely from any location.
The sharing tools let you reach your audience through a number of social and mobile channels. For example, you can tweet the link to your live broadcast and invite your followers to listen in while you broadcast from your phone. Then you can go back in and see how many listeners you drew, how long they listened, and how much revenue you generated from the broadcast.
"We're very pleased to be investing in Cinchcast right now. Building on the success of BlogTalkRadio, this team has the necessary experience, knowledge and market-leading products to expand its reach into the enterprise market," said Douglas Atkin of Guggenheim Partners in a statement.
Indeed, a number of heavy-hitting clients have already signed on to the platform, including Intel, AAA, Ford, Sears, Scholastic, HarperCollins, TLC, Business Insider, AT&T, Columbia Journalism School, and more.
The company plans to use the new funds to expand its platform, scale sales and marketing, and grow its media property, BlogTalkRadio.
