Foursquare secures $50 million for location and Glympse gets a $7.5 million Series B for... location

Seed-stage

myGengo, provider of translation services and an API, raised $1 million in seed funding from Point Nine, Mitch Kapor and Wenceslao Casares.

VibeDeck, a platform for musicians to sell directly to fans, raised a $2 million seed round of funding from U.S. and international investors.

 

Early-stage

Allegiance, provider of VOCi (Voice of Customer Intelligence) technology and services, closed a $12 million Series B led by new investor El Dorado Ventures.

Bromium, emerging from stealth mode to develop technology in the areas of virtualization and security, closed a $9.2 million Series A round of funding with Andreessen Horowitz, Ignition Partners and Lightspeed Venture Partners.

Cloud9 IDE,a  cloud-based Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for Web and mobile apps, raised $5.5 million in Series A funding from Accel Partners and Atlassian Software.

 

 

 

Glympse, the company behind location sharing app Glympse, passed one million users, in addition to closing a $7.5 million Series B round led by Menlo Ventures and Ignition Partners.

Democratizing identity management, OneLogin raised $1.5 million in Series A funding from Charles River Ventures.

 

ProtonMedia, developer of a virtual collaboration platform for the workplace, raised $4.5 million in Series B financing led by Kaplan Ventures with participation from Originate Ventures and Osage Venture Partners.

 

Cloud-based systems management company ScaleXtreme secured an $11 million Series B round of funding led by Ignition Partners, with help from existing investor Accel Partners.

Soluto, developing “anti-frustration software,” raised a $10.5 million Series B led by Index Ventures, with existing investors participating.

Touchstone Semiconductor, developer of high-performance analog integrated circuit solutions, secured $12 million in Series A funding from Opus Capital and Khosla Ventures.

 

Late-stage

Enablon, provider of sustainability management software, received a $15 million investment from the Environmental Technologies Fund

Foursquare raised $50 million in new funding led by Andreessen Horowitz, with participation from Spark Capital and existing investors O’Reilly AlphaTech Ventures and Union Square Ventures.

iControl Networks, provider of broadband home management, closed over $50 million in Series D funding.

 

Ping Identity, provider of cloud identity security, secured $21 million from Triangle Peak Partners, Silicon Valley Bank, and existing investors Appian Ventures, Draper Fisher Jurvetson, General Catalyst Partners, SAP Ventures and Volition Capital.

 

Mobile discovery company Shazam raised $32 million in new funding led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers (KPCB) and Institutional Venture Partners (IVP), with existing investor DN Capital participating.

SolarBridge Technologies, an AC module system developer for the solar industry, closed a $19 million Series C round of funding from existing investors Rho Ventures, Battery Ventures, and the Texas Emerging Technology Fund.

Enterprise cloud storage provider StorSimple secured a $10.5 million Series C round of funding led by Ignition Partners, with participation from all of StorSimple’s existing investors, including Index Ventures, Mayfield Fund, and Redpoint Ventures.
