Pitchbook survey: VCs see AI as high growth but also overinvested
The biggest focus areas for AI investing are healthcare and biotech
Read more...Those of us who can't stand the patronizing GPS voice, which guides us in calm, soothing tones while quietly judging our navigational handicap, now have a reason to celebrate. NavTones, the company that provides celebrity voices for portable GPS devices, has just added a new voice to its collection: none other than Gary Busey.
The reality TV star who's currently lighting up the set of Celebrity Apprentice with his huge reflective teeth can now give you directions on your TomTom or Garmin portable GPS device. Turn-by-turn directions are interspersed with Busey's trademarked Buseyisms, which include such nuggets of wisdom as "If you ever get bored, honk at geese, even if you don't see any." This is followed by loud, obnoxious squawking, and Busey adds: "I'm not bored, because I'm honking at geese." Other little gems include: "don't look in to the rear-view mirror to clean your teeth, or you could rear end a log truck in Oregon and remove your teeth forever."
The Gary Busey NavTones download features 60 original audio clips and it's available for $6.95.
All NavTones celebrity GPS voices are authentic and original, offering turn-by-turn directions that are sprinkled with their own unique witticisms. The company's aim is to provide an alternative to the traditional GPS voice, which is "universally despised and devoid of personality."
Gary Busey's all-sorts-of-crazy voice will, indeed, be a welcome relief from the dead, passive-aggressive default GPS voice, which is nothing short of murderously infuriating when you're stuck in traffic and you have to go to the bathroom, and oops--you just missed your turn-off.
Other celebrity voices include David Hasselhoff (who routinely says "hoff" instead of "off"), Mr. T (this one's obvious), Dennis Hopper, Burt Reynolds, Flavor Flav, talking car KITT (Ha, ha...), and more.
