  • Fay, a company that matches individuals with a registered dietitian based on their goals, health history, and insurance eligibility, became the first nutrition care service to join Amazon’s Health Benefits Connector. This collaboration enables Amazon customers, who are eligible for Fay services, to discover and enroll in Fay’s personalized, insurance-covered nutrition care when browsing for wellness and nutrition services
  • Google Gemini partnered with California Community Colleges to bring AI tools and training to its 2.1 million students and faculty, providing no-cost access to resources like Gemini for Education, NotebookLM and Google Career Certificates across all 116 colleges

  • Lingokids, an an edutainment and media company that developed an interactive app for kids aged 2-8, raised $120 million led by Bullhound Capital and General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund, with the participation of Nextalia Ventures and other existing investors

  • Seven Starling, a virtual provider of women’s behavioral health services, raised $8 million in funding led by Rethink Impact, with participation from Pear VC, Zeal Capital Partners, Magnify Ventures, Ulu Ventures, Expa, Fiore Ventures, the March of Dimes, Rogue Women’s Fund, and Graham & Walker
  • Imagine Pediatrics, a pediatric medical group delivering 24/7 virtual and in-home care for children with special health care needs, raised $67 million in Series B funding. Participants in the round include existing investors Oak HC/FT, Optum Ventures, and Rubicon Founders and new strategic investment from the Autism Impact Fund and others
  • Sevaro Health, a healthcare technology company that provides teleneurology services for patients with neurological disorders, raised $39 million in a round led by Valtruis, with continued support from early investors APA and Catalyst

  • Evolve, an AI-native learning platform that helps companies onboard, upskill, and track employee growth faster, raised $1 million in a seed funding round led by AltaIR Capital, with participation from 500 Global, ULTRA.VC, Funders VC and Brayne.vc

Going public

  • Jaro Education will open its 450 crore rupees (US$50 million) IPO for subscription on September 23, 2025. The Mumbai-based education company offers degree and certification programs in partnership with Indian and international institutions

Fund News

  • T.Rx Capital, a new venture capital firm focused on early-stage healthcare innovation, closed its inaugural fund, T.Rx Capital Fund I, at $77.5 million. The fund is dedicated to backing visionary founders building at the intersection of technology and biology including biotechnology, techbio, and tech-enabled services

Policy and government

  • The Trump administration is redirecting nearly $500 million in federal funding toward historically Black colleges and tribal colleges, a one-time investment covered primarily by cuts to other colleges serving large numbers of minority students. The Education Department announced the funding boost days after cutting $350 million from other grants, mostly from programs reserved for colleges that have large numbers of Hispanic students. Agency leaders said those grants were unconstitutional because they’re available only to colleges with certain minority enrollment thresholds
  • A federal appeals court refused for now to allow U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to proceed with a planned overhaul of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, which would involve reorganizing several agencies and firing thousands of employees. A three-judge panel of the Boston-based 1st U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals declined to lift a federal judge’s injunction secured by several Democratic-led states. The 1st Circuit rejected the Trump administration’s claims that the states could not show they would be immediately harmed if the injunction is lifted pending an appeal

  • Over this past weekend, someone left flowers on the cars of patients at Dublin Methodist Hospital. Susan Rappaport was in the emergency room for some tests. When she and her daughter went to leave, they found a tiny bouquet of flowers threaded through the handle of the car door with a note that simply said, “Have a good day.” Rappaport said at least a dozen cars had identical bouquets. She said she doesn’t know who left them, but the small act of kindness made a big difference in her day
