AI Outtakes

  • Apple users in China accidentally got a brief glimpse of Apple Intelligence features, even though the features are not available in the country due to regulations that restrict foreign AI technology. In the middle of the night, some Chinese users began seeing Apple Intelligence listed as available and active in the Settings app on their iPhones, including features that go against China’s regulatory framework; for example, they had access to a feature that uses Google reverse image search, while Google services are banned in the country. Apple quickly recognized its mistake and pulled the features offline but not before screenshots were posted to X
