  • Syndex Bio, a startup that has developed a way to preserve methylation during DNA amplification, raised $15.5 million in seed financing in a round led by ARCH Venture Partners, along with OMX Ventures, +ND Capital, and Meltwind Advisory
  • MedScout, a commercial engine for medical device and diagnostics companies, raised a $10 million growth round led by Fulcrum Equity Partners, with participation from existing investors Live Oak Ventures and Stage 2 Capital
  • Third Way Health, an AI-enabled services partner for healthcare organizations, raised $15 million in Series A funding by Health Velocity Capital
  • Handl Health, a price transparency platform, raised $14.2 million in Series A funding led by Arthur Ventures, with follow-on investment from Syndra Capital Partners and another strategic investor from the ecosystem.   • Hemi Health, a startup specializing in migraine, headache, and concussion treatment, raised €4 million in seed funding led by Export and Investment Fund and Swiss Health Ventures, with additional participation from Sondo Capital, Alliance Venture Capital, and Crowberry Capital
  • Custom Surgical, a company digitizing surgical microscopes and slit lamps for ophthalmology, raised a €3.5 million pre-series A round led by Ventech, with participation from ZEISS and a mix of new and existing investors
  • Oncare, which partners with accredited hospitals and integrates medical, surgical and radiation oncology services under one platform, raised ₹27 Cr in a Series A funding round led by Sky Impact Capital.   • Giant, an interactive storytelling platform built around children as creators, raised an $8 million seed round led by Matrix, Decasonic, and Griffin Gaming Partners, with participation from Perceptive Ventures, Flex Capital, Arbitrum Gaming Ventures, Unpopular Ventures, and LightShed Venture

Policy and government

  • Aiming to reverse recent changes to federal vaccine recommendations, 15 states led by Democrats announced that they were suing the Trump administration. The lawsuit, filed by a coalition of 14 attorneys general and the governor of Pennsylvania, asks the courts to nullify the administration’s decision in January to reduce the number of diseases children are routinely immunized against to 11 from 17. It also challenges “the unlawful replacement” of members of the federal Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices, who recommend vaccines for Americans
  • The Education Department announced plans to move two more programs to other federal agencies. The department reached interagency agreements with the departments of Health and Human Services and State, adding to previous deals reached last year. The latest announcement says HHS will take some control of family engagement and school support programs, while the State Department will take on responsibilities for Section 117 foreign gift reporting requirements for universities
