- Synchrony Medical, a respiratory care technology company, raised $5 million in a funding round led by Edge Medical Ventures with participation from the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, Broadfin Holdings, Consensus Business Group, and angel investors
- SpendRule, an AI-powered platform that helps healthcare systems track their spending. raised $2 million in funding in a round led by Abundant Venture Partners, along with MemorialCare Innovation Fund and Zeal Capital Partners

- Beep which integrates career guidance, mentorship, structured learning programs, and AI-powered hiring tools, raised $850,000 in a pre-Series A funding round backed by Knowhere Ventures LLC, Pacific Global Solutions Limited, and LeadAngels FLV. The round also saw participation from angel investors Vipul Prakash and Sandeep Johri
- Inspired Learning AI, which is focused on developing an AI-powered GCSE learning platform, raised a £220,000 angel round from undisclosed investors

- Frist Cressey Ventures closed an oversubscribed $425 million Fund IV to focus on early-stage healthcare companies transforming care delivery with technology and tech-enabled services, including AI-native business models
Policy and government
- A federal judge in Illinois ruled that the Trump administration cannot rescind $600 million in public health grants allocated to four Democratic-led states.. California, Colorado, Illinois and Minnesota sued to try to block the planned funding cuts to programs that track disease outbreaks and study health outcomes of LGBTQ+ people and communities of color in major cities. U.S. District Judge Manish Shah stopped the cuts from taking effect for 14 days, saying in his order that the states “have shown that they would suffer irreparable harm from the agency action.”
- The U.S. Department of Labor announced the availability of $65 million in funding to support programs that help community colleges develop high-quality, short-term training programs that meet employers’ and workers’ skill development needs. Administered by the department’s Employment and Training Administration, this sixth round of Strengthening Community College Training Grants funding is focused on programs that seek eligibility for the newly authorized Workforce Pell Grants. It will fund projects nationwide, with individual awards up to approximately $11 million

- Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joined forces with singer Kid Rock in a new ad promoting the department’s Make America Healthy Again initiative. The ad shows a stripped-down Kennedy and Kid Rock using exercise equipment in a cabin-style gym and inside a sauna. It also shows a shirtless Kennedy dipping into what appears to be a cold-plunge tub while wearing jeans, and the pair playing pickleball.
