Globally, 4 Billion metric tons of waste is generated each year.  In the United States alone, we create and then landfill over 300 million tons of Construction & Demolition (C&D) Debris , Municpial Solid Waste (MSW) and other related waste streams.

Using gasification technology, Ze-gen converts C&D and MSW into zero-emissions Syngas and electrical energy. The company has demonstrated its technology at a prototype plant in Massachusetts and is now ready for commercialization.

Waste-to-Energy industry has been around for a long time. In fact, the first anaerobic digester was built around 1850, but the technologies have never been fully commercialized. The dramatic price increase in the other energy sources – coal, oil, natural gas – has made it possible for investors to look at Waste as a ‘serious’ feedstock.

Of course, its kind of hard to ignore when the market is as big as 4 Billion tons every year!
