Nicholas Dematteis grew up in a family environment that emphasized the importance of equality. He was taught from a young age that everybody, regardless of race, sex, or socioeconomic opportunity, should get the same chances to achieve their goals. But for a lot of people these opportunities are non-existent until their housing situation is resolved. For that reason, Mr. Dematteis was determined to help Habitat for Humanity International, so that these people could finally get a chance to take their future into their own hands.
