The best Christmas videos that went viral in 2012

With Christmas over, let's look back at some of the best videos to hit the Web in December

Christmas 2012 has come and gone. All of our presents have been opened, our ham devoured and now we can start looking forward to 2013. But, before we go that, lets take a look back to some of the best videos to find their way onto the Internet this Christmas season.

Like every year, the Internet provided us with some great entertainment to get us through that torturous week with our relatives. Here are some of my favorites:

The wittiest

Here is a video that is not only one of my favorites from this Christmas, but perhaps of all time. It tells the story of the Nativity, but reimagines the entire thing, from conception to birth, taking place on social media.

In case you were wondering, the three wise men checked in to Jesus' birth on Foursquare, after being invited by Joseph on Facebook.

The most fun

I'll admit it: I'm kind of a sucker for Love, Actually and that song at the end. I really cannot tell you why but All I Want For Christmas Is You has really become one of my favorite Christmas songs ever. And I usually can't stand Mariah Carey songs!

So imagine my delight when I heard that the song had been covered by Carey, the Roots and Jimmy Fallon on the kazoo! It's as fun as it sounds!

The most surreal

Every year there is at least one video that is indescribable. One that is so bizarre, so insane, that it has to be seen to be believed.

This year it was a clip from a 1988 special called A Very Special Christmas Party. It features Arnold Schwarzenegger telling an old lady, and bunch of surely traumatized children, about how, when he was a kid, the devil would come a few days before Santa Claus to tell the kids how terrible they were. And that is before he starts singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town, along with Mike Tyson, Danny DeVito and Randy Travis.

You have never seen anything like this. I guarantee it.

The cutest

If there is one given on the Internet it's that you really can't ever go wrong with animals and babies. People love cute things. Babies and animals are cute. They really do go hand in hand.

So I give you, a puppy trying to open her own present:

The most heartwarming

There has been a video going around of a son who surprised his father with tickets to the BCS championship game next month. When people tell you that Christmas should not be about giving presents, just remember the look on this father's face when his son gives him a gift he truly wanted.

There you have it folks, that was Christmas 2012. I can't wait to see what next year brings!
