I am a(n):

Entrepreneur

Blog Glue

Companies I've invested in:

Blog Glue

Startups I worked for:

Blog Glue

If you are an entrepreneur, why?

I want to be my own boss, and be in control.

My favorite startups:

Blog Glue, MailChimp, Groupon, 37 Signals

What's most frustrating and rewarding about entrepreneurship/innovation?

Entrepreneurship is the shortest path to executing on my own vision. It is also the shortest path to bearing the consequences of my own actions. Theres no one to slow me down and theres no one to blame. If you can thrive in this duality you'll love it. I love it.

What's the No. 1 mistake entrepreneurs make?

We fail to look at an idea objectively.

What are the top three lessons you've learned as an entrepreneur?

First and foremost keep all things simple. Second, be quick to fire people who suck. Third, customers are OK with doing more work as long as it feels like less.

That last ones a bit tricky, I found that features that do more but require a leap of logic perform worse than limited features that do small but immediately satisfying things.
