A big week for financing across the spectrum of seed, early, late and growth-stage companies

Seed-stage

Getaround, a peer-to-peer car sharing service, raised $3.4 million in seed funding from CrunchFund, Netflix founder Marc Randolph, Time Warner's largest shareholder Vivi Nevo, Redpoint Ventures, and others.

SaveUp, aiming to gamify good financial behavior by rewarding people for saving their money, raised $2 million in seed funding from BlueRun Ventures and True Ventures.

 

Early-stage

Apsalar, a mobile analytics and behavioral targeting platform for iOS and Android apps, closed a $5 million round of funding led by Thomvest Ventures.

 

BonitaSoft, the leader in open source business process management (BPM), secured $11 million in a Series B round of financing led by venture capital firm Serena Capital, which was founded by successful Silicon Valley entrepreneurs.

 

FireHost, a secure cloud hosting company, raised a $10 million Series B from The Stephens Group, LLC, as well as earlier-round investors.

gShift Labs, provider of a search engine optimization (SEO) software system, received a $1.1 million investment from GrowthWorks, a Canadian venture capital firm. In addition, the startup will also be granted another $500,000 in funding from the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario).

HootSuite, the social marketing dashboard with the cute little owl logo, raised $3 million in a round of funding.

MeLLmo, provider of mobile business intelligence, analytics and dashboards, raised a $30 million round led by Sequoia Capital, marking the first institutional funding for the company.

Social shopping company Mertado launched Mertado TV and raised a $2.3 million Series A from Rustin Canyon Partners, Blumberg Capital, and Redpoint Ventures.

Newly-launched, location-based mobile gaming start-up Red Robot Labs raised $8.5 million in funding led by Benchmark Capital.

Songza, a service that allows users to create and share music playlists in the cloud, launched Tuesday and announced an undisclosed amount of financing raised from previous investors, Deep Fork Capital, and an unnamed strategic investor

 StatSheet, a sports data site formerly known as Automated Insights, secured $4 million led by Court Square Ventures and OCA Ventures.

Social music mixing site Turntable.fm closed a $7 million funding round led by Union Square Ventures.

Unigo.com closed its first round of institutional funding, $1.6 million led by The McGraw-Hill Companies. Powered by a network of college counselors and enrolled college students, Unigo is a resource of information to find, get in and pay for college.

 

Xignite, provider of financial market data, raised $10 million in Series B funding from StarVest Partners, L.P. and John L. “Launny” Steffens of Spring Mountain Capital.

 

Late-stage

10gen, which sponsors open source non-relational database MongoDB, secured $20 million in financing led by Sequoia Capital, with participation from existing investors Flybridge Capital and Union Square Ventures.

 

InMobi, the self-proclaimed “largest independent mobile ad network” in the world, received an impressive $200 million cash infusion from Softbank Corp., which owns Yahoo Japan along with a number of other properties.

Online video publishing company Ooyala has gotten a big new backer.  Motorola Mobility Ventures invested an undisclosed sum into the company.

Opera Solutions, provider of machine learning science and advanced Big Data predictive analytics, raised $84 million in its first outside equity funding, led by Silver Lake Sumeru, with participation from Accel-KKR, Invus Financial Advisors, JGE Capital Management and Tola Capital.

Teladoc raised $18.6 million in a round of funding led by Kleiner Perkins Caufield & Byers, with participation from existing investors Cardinal Partners, HLM Venture Partners, Trident Capital, and New Capital Partners.

Tremor Video, one of the largest ad networks for online video, raised $37 million in a funding round led by W Capital Partners. At least half of the new funding will be set aside specifically for acquisitions, according to CEO Bill Day.

Enterprise cloud storage provider Zetta raised $9 million in its third round of funding from existing investors Foundation Capital and Sigma Partners.  The new capital brings Zetta’s total raised to $31.5 million.
