Google acquires Motorola for $12.5 billion in cash; Buddy Media raises $54 million round

Buddy Media, provider of social media management software, raised $54 million in Series D funding from a group of leading late-stage investors.

Google acquired Motorola--and its patent portfolio—for $12.5 billion in cash, or $40 per share.  The deal represents a premium of 63% on Motorola’s closing price on Friday of $24.47.

 

 

Time Warner Cable and Insight Communications Company today announced they have entered into a definitive merger agreement under which Time Warner Cable will acquire Insight for $3 billion in cash.
