Creator of Cookie Rush and Undead Attack! Pinball HD secures new equity

Mobile gaming studio Mobjoy has raised $1.3 million in equity financing, according to an SEC filing.

Fabio Massuda, who handles strategy, operations and finances for Mobjoy, is the only name listed on the filing, so it’s impossible to tell who contributed to the first round of funding. In general, there isn’t much information out there about the company, except this blurb on its website:

Mobjoy is an innovative and creative game studio committed to building new experiences by delivering high standard, visually stunning and joyful gaming. We believe that the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad are outstanding entertainment devices and therefore our games will be custom built to these platforms to ensure the best possible experience.

Thank you for your visit and great gaming!

We’ve reached out to learn more about the new capital, but have not yet received reply.

As of now, Mobjoy offers two titles for iOS: Cookie Rush on the iPhone and iPod Touch and Undead Attack! Pinball HD on the iPad.

In Cookie Rush, a side-scrolling action game, the user runs through computer-generated levels trying to escape from a giant, creepy cookie from a recipe gone wrong. Undead Attack!, which has been downloaded over 120,000 times, combines the classic experience of pinball with the more modern gate defense model.

It’s also worth noting that Cookie Rush players can compare scores with other users on the GREE-owned mobile social gaming network OpenFeint, to see how well they stack up.

The new funding will likely be used to fuel development of more games and to make new hires. Mobjoy is looking to add IT, art and design professionals to its team.
