Metal buildings are a great choice because they are cost effective, environmentally friendly and can be more durable than other materials over the years.  If you live in a prone to harsh weather area, steel is a perfect choice.

Cost
The reason steel is so cheap is two fold.  One is that most steel buildings can be pre-fabricated in a warehouse, so the cost of onsite construction goes down dramatically.  The other reason is that most steel in North America comes from recycled steel.

Eco-friendly
Environmentally steel is a great choice because of its ability to be recycled and it has fewer chemicals associated with it.  For example treated wood can have many types of chemicals used in the process of treating it.  Commercial metal buildings do not use any type of chemical after being made.

Weather Conditions
If your winters are full of snow, harsh wind and/or heavy rain steel is a perfect choice.  The same can be for summer months when the hot sun is always beaming down on your buildings.
