The thrill of creating an incredible solution to someone's intense problem

Exhilarating to see positive impact of my ventures on those who most need change.
Frustrating and humbling to realize there isn't really a proven formula for start-up success. That even great ideas and products don't always get adopted or see success. But working 24/7 to create that "magic" formula for success over and over again has its own appeal for entrepreneurs like me.
#1 Mistake - Underestimating - from how much to raise to how long something will take.
#2 Mistake - Building a "nice to have" and not a "painkiller". Insufficient customer research coupled with subjectivity and a dollop of short sightedness. But then again some great companies have emerged from just such a birthing ground...
#3 Mistake - Not course correcting fast enough.
1. Get out and talk to customers BEFORE you build
2. Build smart, high integrity teams
3. Where's the $$? Revenue is a great savior
